I actually like FF 4 the best, though FF6 could have been better if they hadn't screwed up the second part. If they hire a writer to tighten up the seond part, I would buy a DS just for the remake of that game.
Get your fill of sci-fi, science, and mockery of stupid ideas

Steve? that is the BEST DAMN IDEA I've ever heard!Steve wrote:No! WRONG GAME! They should remake FFVI, nor FFVII!![]()
I want it given proper FF treatment, with a good voice cast that includes Mark Hammil as Kefka!
He sees with keen insight.Arthur_Tuxedo wrote:FF8 better than FF6? You must be smoking something powerful.
Magic has been obsolete in battle since FFIV. In every single other FF game, before and since, the damage potential of magic barely matches that of a standard physical attack from the same or another character, but has an associated MP cost. which the attack would not have.Darth Raptor wrote:My only complaints were that the magic was useless in actual battle (made obsolete by summoning) and used strictly for junctioning. That and there was no truncated summoning animation like in FFX. What's normally a minor annoyance turned into a major problem in timed situations (battle with Odin, etc.).
Actually to further the thought. The only reason magic had ANY use after a point(aside from bolstering physical power) is group attack usage. When one Flare can kill everything versus a bunch attacking for four rounds...it's nice. But damage wise, physical can outstrip magic frighteningly quick.Vendetta wrote:Magic has been obsolete in battle since FFIV. To agree with you, I'll say how in 95% of the fights I was in in both FF IX and X, all I did was jam on the X button and attack. Status-attack magic never seems to work, (but man, I loved when I could use Stop on critters like Tiamat in FFI and the Dark Elf in FFIV), shell and safe are useless, and only once you get in to the -aga level of spells do they do any appreciable damage.Ghost Rider wrote: Actually to further the thought. Sadly many FFs have less and less wave attacks and far more "Here's three critters.", so even group usage magic is losing out.
Actually, if you knew what you're doing you can refine Curaga's virtually from the beginning and junction them to your attack making it far more potent than any other form of attack. From there it's just a matter of keeping your health low, using your limit break and going Renzokouken every turn. While it's not just holding down X it's almost as dull.Vendetta wrote:A couple of minutes spent Drawing the right magic, and you're sorted. In fact if anything, you can become too powerful too quickly. As long as you know how the Draw system works you can reach the current area's plateau in only a couple of battles (draw one spell, assign it to Magic, go back into a battle, and keep redrawing the same spell, it will feed your magic and soon you'll be Drawing 9 each time, fill a stack in 12 turns, at about 30 seconds a turn). Plus magic is as costless as attacks, because you can just Draw-Cast it.

I totally agree with you. Just clean up the graphics and for god sakes, dont rush the game so we actually get a good Disc Two plot!Marcao wrote:When push comes to shove I enjoyed playing FF7. If there was a single roleplaying game I would want remade with newer technology and left relatively intact it would have been Xenogears. I tried out Xenosaga and gave up on it. Xenogears is still my favorite rpg to data, followed by Suikoden 1. Still, I am probably going to get a PS3 eventually and I would certainly buy a prettier FF7.
They're actually remaking the first two Suikoden games for the PSP, but I'm not sure if there's any US release planned.Marcao wrote:When push comes to shove I enjoyed playing FF7.
