No bet. Although they are probably XM35-wings (or whatever the designation is by now). XJ3 was the most advanced version at the start of the NJO, and by the time of the
Dark Nest, they have the StealthX (which, for plot convenience, can only be flown by Jedi).

Well then I can't wait to see Imperator-X class Star Destroyers.
Which can only be crewed by Sith.
Who are half or fully naked.
While humming the Imperial March.
On Tuesdays.

when compare these "Sith" to true Sith lords in KOTOR series (for heaven forbid earlier EU or the Movies) the contrast is just mind blowing (the KOTOR Sith where menecing (even in KOTOR2) these on the other hand are not).

That's what you get for having Dark Jedi that claim they're Sith.
I'm personally more irked that they couldn't have thought of anything more original than making the main character a Skywalker.

Ten bucks the GFFA is still using X-wings.
I'm absolutely serious, by the way.
Why shouldn't they? I mean, if the design works, it should be usable and relatively current for millennia (look at the Ebon Hawk as compared to the MF or Outrider, which were constructed 4,000 years later). Technologal stasis dictates that a great many things should be similar, ships included. Actually, one of the worst things they could do, from a continuity standpoint at least, is make the galaxy too different. Certainly, it would be better if they explored a fresh story, as this one will inevitably be a reguritation of the movies and early EU from Quinlan Vos' perspective, plus a bit more angst, but if they really wanted to make a really different setting believable, they should have set the thing a thousand or two years in the future, not a paltry century. Fuck, at the rate he was going in NJO, Pellaeon could still conceivably be around (but that would probably involve adding more depth and character than the rest of the comic's entire cast).

Quinlan Vos pops up by the 10th issue. Or perhaps his son. Mark my words.

Or the original Tales of the jedi, Sith, which for all their Egyptian style was still much better then this, indeed compared to this the entire Tales of the jedi was much much better.

The tales of the Jedi is IIRC pre-KOTOR EU

Okay. In all honesty and seriousness I'm gonna reserve my opinion on the whole matter until I get a chance to read the material. If it's crap it's crap but I'm not gonna judge a book by it's cover. Even a comic book.

Oh god, the Good Side Chick is a Zeltron. That means she'll probably spend the entire comic series humping the main character- no, wait, everybody's leg like there's no tomorrow.

The problem is they already have a superior design. It's called the E-wing. But no EU writer seems to want to replace the X-wing with it, so new versions of the X-wing are constantly produced instead.
I just kind of find it annoying is all.

Ah. Well, then such a continuation would be unjustifiable.

I still don't get what people's beef with X-Wings is. The T-65J was designed by Incom as a competitor to FreiTek's E-Wings, and apparently it was a superior craft. As of 70 rS the T-65J5 "ChaseX" is the current top-of-the-line starfighter. I don't see the issue.
And StealthX's are Jedi-only craft since they carry Shadow bombs, which require telekenesis, and have no comm system, which requires telepathy for communication.
As for Legacy-- I'm just as apprehensive as the next guy, but let's give it a chance first, eh? Those hokey covers (although I actually kinda like them) are supposed to be like the publicity shots for movies, and aren't drawn by the internal artist. And while I'll grant that Darth Krayt and Darth Talon aren't the most inspiring Sith names, I don't see the problem of a new incarnation of the Sith. The sure as hell can't be worse than the pansies from the Great Hyperspace War.

The E-wing is a uber piece of crap fanwhore design, while the X-wing is iconic. It doesn't really take much to figure out why people keep putting the X-wing in their books/comics/games. The X-wing is as much Star Wars as sauser shaped spacecraft are Star Trek.

is right. I can understand why people would think the life of a pirate is exciting (even though it never was) but it really gets tiring how some EU writers have a habit of going ZOMG JEDI SMUGGLERZ! *fapfapfapfapfapfap*

Yeah, but something tells me they're going to try to make Cade's friend there "Black Han Solo" as opposed to trying to actually make him "Lando Calrissian Jr." Big difference being that a Lando Calrissian Jr. would be a large-scale organizer and a cunning businessman, while Black Han Solo will mostly just be about big guns and fast ships.
Seems to me that too many EU writers try to make their pet character the next Han Solo, with the power level of Yoda if the character's Force sensitive (which they probably are). Unless their pet character is a bad guy, at which point it's obviously the next Darth Vader, the next Palpatine, or the next Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Also, besides the salvaged Vader pants, is Cade actually wearing a black trenchcoat? Didn't that go out of style after The Matrix and Vampire LARPs stopped being cool?

I read the article in 'Star Wars Insider'. Here's my two cents: [rant]
1) Cade Skywalker
Why in hell is he wearing earrings? Didn't he read the article on Mandalorians, who frown upon the wearing of earings because they can be torn off in hand-to-hand combat, causing injury?
Why in hell is he a pirate-turned-bounty hunter? That's like having a mugger-turned-police officer-- sooner or later, he'll face a former associate or friend, be accused of betrayal, and placed in a kill-or-be-killed situation.
Why must he choose between Vader's legacy (Dark Side) and Luke's (Light Side)? That guarantees a lot of angst-- as if we need an Ikari Shinji-type character in 'Star Wars'.
2) The new Empire
Values strength above all other virtues, the powerful few ruling over the many-in-poverty, blah blah blah... Why in hell are the writers resurrecting an old threat like Son Goku in 'Dragonball'? (They might as well clone Vader while they're at it.) And why the damn politicized preaching? Is
David Brin writing this?
[/rant] There's my two cents. The writers better WORK HARD so their story won't become the 'Star Wars' equivalent of 'Star Trek: Voyager'.

Holy shit, Cade is a bounty hunter too now? It was bad enough when he was the badass Jedi turned pirate. The number of "cool" wanked-out traits just keep piling up.
EDIT: Looks like this new Empire isn't the good guys after all, as some people believed before. Hooray for reset buttons!

If this turns out crappy I might consider trying my luck at an epic fanfiction.
Hopefully my plot will be good.

Gahh....
The 'Sith' look like refugees from a GWAR concert, while Cade looks like John Travolta after a sneak attack by a deranged hairstylist.
For publicity panels the art is simply awful.

Only one main point...it is like using the F-15 just because it is iconic, even if you upgrade the F-15 like there's no tomorrow, it will still be outdated.

Well, it worked for Naga Sadow (
I think he's cool).
Naga Sadow >> this, from the looks of it.
And, get this, Cade's pirate-symbol is a Mandalorian ripoff.
And the stormtroopers wear the same kind of armor as 100 years before...
At this point, I've suddenly become more interested in the original Marvel line...
Well, it's got battlecruisers, battleships, the
Tarkin etc. I predict
Legacy will have
Wankerator-class Star Destructors that are 1 100 meters long. (Because the ISD is too big, y'all!)

WHAT. IS. THIS?
Well... I thought once that Star Wars Holiday Special is top. Is uber. There could be nothing worse.
However, I was wrong. This is just as wrong.
This... this... ugliness should be smitten and burned down - to every last issue of it ever made. And those who made should enjoy the flames of hell to full extent.

As if someone needed more proof that today the EU totally sucks. even more than it sucked in the days of KJA.

The first time I caught a preview of this I started laughing . . . until I realized they were being seious about it. I don't know were the picture is that I saw of Cade, but he reminded me of David Bowie. And I do not mean that in a good way. These pictures do not improve on that impression. It looks like its going to sacrifice plot for big guns, fast ships, and hot females. Hmmm, how predictable. I'm sorry, but I can't see anything good coming out of these comics. Just one more go at milking the Star Wars cashcow.
