Pretty sure it's just a very large bomb. They make mushroom clouds too, you know.
It looks too big to be a very large bomb. Perhaps it's a small tac-nuke like the Davy Crocket? But I'm not too familiar with how much damage high yeild bombs and low yeild bombs are supposed to do.
The lowest yield nuclear weapon that is still in the US armerment is about 5 megatons, so somewhere around 300 times the explosion that was on Hiroshima.

Dunno about Tac nukes though, they're no longer in the US aresonal. :?

I think he means the highest however most of the ones over 1mt are thermonukes and are strategic weapons not tactical ones.

That was a very nice video except the small nuke at the end as there was no blast wave or thermal burn.

Uh, aren't ICBM and SSBM warheads in the 300 to 400 kiloton range?

Usually less. I think you mean SLBM? Don't know what an SSBM is ... :P

Yeah, that was a typo. IIRC, the Peacekeeper was ~300KT, and I guess that's on the high side for an ICBM.

Hrm, I'm not so sure about the game after watching that trailer. Yes it looks fancy, but the other movie I saw had troops using cover and whatnot. In this one there were troops standing in open fields under fire, or running into machinegun fire without any sort of cover. It looks good, but not quite as good as I had anticipated, ah well.

Possibly the detailed unit behaviour hadn't been written into the code yet when they created the trailer?

Considering they have a year to release or so, I'd say it better be in there.

I think it was mostly to make it look better, Massive arn't stupid and their unit AI in both GCs was good.

I hope so, because what I saw was just lines of tanks and men shooting at each other. Now... if those soldiers were in trenches and the tanks slow armored tractors and the war WW1, okay that makes sense, but it's not. That was more like Supreme Commander with a modern setting. Which, again, is pretty cool; but not what the first trailer had me expecting.
