Magneto has a lot of tricks he could pull which would make fighting him even with plastic guns difficult. Mutants like Nightcrawler and Shadowcat can get ANYWHERE they want to and no one can stop them.

And lets not forget that the mutant cure could never stop someone like Xavier if they wanted to fight back.
Ultimately; Xmen III shows that humanity has more tricks up it's sleaves. Yeah, blatent X genes have a presumed advantage, yet the range of humanity prevails

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Let's face it: mutants are stupid. People ON THIS BOARD could kill Shadowcat. Just because comic police are stupid doesn't mean the actual world would have a problem.

Then again, am I the only person who thought X2 ending with Xavier threatening the President of the United States should have had a post-credits Mansion explosion? :)

I always wondered about how effective the powers of the average mutant really are. For every WOlverine or Jean Grey there could maybe be ten or twelve average schmoes whose mutant power is the ability to change his teeth different colors, or a mutant who has a third arm growing out of his asscheek. You wouldn't see those guys at the academy soon.

Oh, what about a mutant that could make voodoo dolls out of the victim's feces. That would be pretty goddamn funny.

Humanity, it seems for all it's barbarism; would easily kill off the mutants or atleast takr care of the problem if it weren't for the peskey problem of comic book ethics.
Actually, had Magneto not have stood there doing nothing, he alone could have whipped the garrison at Alcatraz by himself. That island was covered with metal debris. A touch of his power and the whole area would be ready made shrapnel. They had to purposely make Magneto a moron in order to beat him with the set up they had.

I think realistically Magneto would have walked through that garrison, plastic weapons or not. Besides, the "Cure" in the X-Men movie was on the same level of realism as Sentinels anyway.

In X3 why doesn't Magneto do his special move and rip the iron out of everyone's blood? Can't he do it to heaps of people at once? Why not?

I think he could only do that with the injection Mystique gave that one guard. I suppose whatever we have in us naturally isn't capable of being used as such a weapon.
