25,000 years of FTL for the humans, however there are buildings on Coruscant that are like 90,000 years old and since we can't build things houses that last that long I'd say they're much more than 100,000 years ahead of us.
Also there are examples of strip mining planets with molten surfaces.

So then BDZed planets are not useless, just uninhabitable.
BTW, how do you strip mind a planet when youre the empire? Planets are like 99% iron through to the core, right? thats alot of useable material..

Barren lifeless rocks are a dime a dozen. Converting a previously inhabited world to one drastically reduces its worth.

BDZ'in a planet Removes the first three layers of it (I think) basically rendering the planet a mere rock of what it was once before
