Question about Mandalore vs Ulic Qel-Droma duel

Weren't the original Mandalorians a non-human species that eventually died out? There can't be any "true" Mandalorians anymore, only individuals from different species following the Mandalorian culture and tradition.

I thought that was the Sith?

I think VT-16 is confusing Mando'a for the Sith. At least, I don't think I actually recall anything that says Mandalorians were originally an alien race that were an inspiration for hyper aggressive humans.

No, the original Mandalorians were supposed to be some Predator-lookalike species that eventually became extinct. This led to other species picking up their legacy and getting all cultural with the Mandalore traditions and shit. :P

In other words, yeah, it's like the Sith and the true Sith.

Don't you know what this means! It means the Sith and the Mandalorians are one and the same!

And that logically means that Boba Fett is the chosen one who will bring balance by killing off all the other force users! So he can bring justice and order to the galaxy!

Actually, the Tuang conquered the Mandalorians (Humans), in respect of his combat prowess the Mandalorians renamed their planet and race after the leader of the Tuang, Mandalore.

the new book blood lines is all about boba and the mandalorian culture, no suprise since it was written by Karen traviss. Also the comic series knights of the old republic show the Mandlorians as a culture with many species, including twi'liks humans and a couple others I couldnt identify.

so the aliens known as the Tuang conquerd a planet renamed the race after their glorious leader mandalore. after they died out a cult grew up honoring them and their warrior ethos. this cult embraced beings from any species as long as they embraced the belifes and teachings of the culture. am I right?

Basically, but it's not a 'cult' in that it doesn't have any form of worship, Karen Travissty is the only one remotely related to the topic of Mandalorians that has a cult following.

honor, glory in battle, etc. the mandalorians are devoted to those, i dont think anyone can deny that. plus the fact that the Tuangs renamed themselves after their leader thats a form of venertion. I think they started as a cult, and grew into a culture as they seperated from their roots.
