MUSHing again, so not right now, maybe later tonight. As an aside, anyone else use Teamspeak? Be hella easier to coordinate.

So is there a game up?

EDIT: Yeah, getting people alerted at the same time that there's a game going on is pretty hard.

Just finished my first online game - crushing defeat! My chaos ally dropped within a minute or so, so I had to defeat 2 space marine players. Where are the replay files kept? I'd certainly like a few pointers ;)
Edit: Hey, how about I just look with my eyes? Heh

Most random players online are retards anyways. I swore off 1v1 automatches after I was killed by a Scout rush.

How is that even possible? Scouts are worse than Guardians imo.

The Scout rush exists.

Scouts worse than Guardians? Then consider the facts that Scouts each have 250 HP, a squad costs only 90 req and 1 pop cap, can move through heavy cover without movement penalties, can field powerful heavy weapons after armory, cost only 45 req to reinforce and can reinforce fast enough to outpace the rate at which members die off, and can melee an entire full-size Cultist squad and defeat it and can hold their own against an entire Guardian squad.

Scouts are the most powerful early "scout" units in the game, and if Relic has their head on straight, they'll be somewhat nerfed in the next patch.

If you're SM, you defend against such a rush by overwatching scouts at your Stronghold and sending them after his Scouts. If you stop capping your points and otherwise stall your economy, the scout rush has served its purpose and will be followed by a SM squad and a Force Commander, and/or more scouts. Get a SM squad as quickly as possible as well to complement your own scouts as they melee or shoot the other guy's scouts. Once the situation's contained, rush his base and give him some of his own medicine. A Scout rush will also attempt to harass and kill off your builders, so watch out.

Chaos are pretty much safe from Scout rushes. With Forced Labor on your first two Heretics, you can build your Chaos Temple and have an almost fully reinforced CSM squad and a Chaos Lord almost ready by the time his Scouts show up.

Orks also have it easy cause their "scout" unit is actually the slugga boys, who can rape early Scouts. Plus Ork buildings have guns on them.

Eldar can also defend because their builders can actually fight back, Guardians are fast with Fleet of Foot, and you can generally build Banshees fast enough to fend off his Scouts after some time.

You mean coordinate in-game, right?

EDIT: I'm downloading the client and server. Time to fish that microphone out, it seems.

EDIT2: Tested out and it works. Yay.

Regretfully I didn't have enough time before I had to go to bed to play with anybody but I did a free for all me and 3 standard comps and that was fun. Fought against ork, eldar, and space marine. I was also space marine. I kicked quite a bit of ass and laid waste to many a foe.

Perhaps I should move up to playing against hard comps now.

Hard is pretty pitiful I've found, I like playing against Harder, or in 2v2 insane.

Why I hate DoW players.

To view, download and put it in your Dawn of War/Playback folder. Select Skirmish, Load a saved game, and select recorded game.

Who has the time and resources to get that kinda cash? Most of my income always seems to end up going back into my squads :?

Erm... So someone sent fire prisms to your base and you failed to adequately respond, electing to leave over half your army lounging around on the other side of the map. So?

They were slugga boyz. What are they supposed to do against massive fire prism whoring? In case you didn't notice he was just ignoring all my Orks totally, instead just destroying my buildings. I built tankbustaz the second I saw them, no good.

Not to mention that he of course didn't even defend his own base with his hordes of fire prisms.

*Shrug* I take care of fire prisms with Assault Marines on occasion; melta bombs followed up with surrounding the sucker at close range so it has a hard time with it's primary weapon. Of course, I realize Slugga Boyz don't have meltas, but they could still surround it and keep it away from the buildings.

Prisms can jump.

Prisms are about the only heavy vehicle the Eldar have, everything else is about as durable as tissue-paper. But they are also LATE LATE game things that are slow to build and fairly expensive. That being said... they can outmanuver just about anything... I guess the trick is to not let your enemy live long enough to build a 10 Fire Prism tanks... I'll watch your movie when I get home...

Not to mention one player drops immediately, one claims he 'was downstairs' most of the time and forgot about the game, one Marine noob did little to nothing, said 'sorry' twice and left when he got beaten, and another Eldar player seemed to be just poorly turtling in a small little space.

Then my opponents and the computer AI are morons, because I've never had that fail. It usually results in the loss of most of two squads of Assault Marines, but I have never had a prism jump out of the trap once surrounded.

Well... in theory, there's nothing stopping him from jumping, unless he had jumped very recently. And, commenting no the AI... units are pretty stupid. Esp. Prism Tanks, I say "attack that bolter tower" and half the time it'll charge head-long into it... rather than, you know, playing artillary piece and staying out of range. Brightlances tend to be stupid like this also... Am I doing something wrong? Is there some magic dance I must do to get my units to stop moving when they find a target in their range?

I almost never find a use for assualt marines, what do you guys use them for?
