Hope the screenshots go as JPEGs on an SD card.
Get your fill of sci-fi, science, and mockery of stupid ideas

It worked for Link.Tether Recovery
You know that Zero Suit Samus has a Plasma Whip, right? But you may not know that she can use it for recovery.
Samus is falling! This looks bad!
She uses her up special move! She just manages to latch on!
Whew, that was a close one.
She can retract it to bring her to the ledge.
Moves like that can be pretty thrilling. And it’s not exclusive to Zero Suit Samus... Other characters can do it, too!
It worked for Varia Suit Samus too. Difference is they had a crappy range, and you had to hook it horizontal to the edge. Zero Suit Samus(and all the grapplers may get this) seems to have a greatly extended range, as well as the ability to grapple from below, which could make them hard to take out from lack of recovery.Elite Pwnage wrote:It worked for Link.
Samus is likely much lighter in her Zero Suit than in her Varia Suit, so her Zero Suit recovery range advantage should even out.Anarchist Bunny wrote:It worked for Varia Suit Samus too. I should have expected his weapons would change, of course, but I'm still surprised. It seems that the clawshot will drift towards ledges, but we're not getting crazy plasma whip grabs here. But the boomerang might be more useful this time around.The design for Link is taken from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, so his special moves have also been designed a bit differently.
<Side Special Move: Gale Boomerang>

Gale Boomerang!
The Gale Boomerang deals damage when thrown at an enemy, but when it comes back, it also lightly pulls the foe’s body.
<Standard Special Move: Hero’s Bow>

The Hero’s Bow! It’s fast.
<Down Special Move: Bomb>

Are these bombs made by Barnes?
<Up Special Move: Spin Attack>

You can charge up the Spin Attack!
<Grab: Clawshot>

All this and the Clawshot, too!
You can use the Clawshot to perform life-saving tether recoveries by aiming at available ledges.
It was difficult to aim in the previous game, but this time it automatically flies to the closest ledge, so it should be pretty simple to use.

Of course, it doesn't mean a thing if it can't reach its target...
Yes, R.O.B., that little robot that helped sneak a video game console into thousands of homes is back. And he's EVIL.The Subspace Army
Movie link
"The Subspace Emissary" storyline introduces a force of formless enemies called the Subspace Army. They are ruled by their commander, the Ancient Minister.

The Ancient Minister.

The enemy’s primary offensive strength is in creatures called the Primid. They come in many variations.
Their objective is to cut apart the world and carry it into Subspace. They use what are called Subspace bombs to do so.
screenshot
The Robotic Operating Buddies (R.O.B.s) on either side of the Subspace bomb are needed to detonate the device.
When a Subspace bomb explodes, a section of the world gets excised and swallowed by Subspace.

Kaboom! The stadium is engulfed!
This is a new, never-before-seen form of aggression...but now is no time to stop and stare. Everyone, everywhere, is beginning to move against it.
Donkey Kong’s pal has finally joined the battle! Unfortunately, screenshots fail to truly capture the way he moves.
He scrambles around the battle, using whimsical fighting moves while wielding both his Rocketbarrel Boost and Peanut Pop Gun!
He's back again and about time too,SAMAS wrote:New Challenger: Diddy Kong!

Animal Crossing: Go K.K. Rider!
It hardly needs to be said that this music plays in Smashville.
Many Animal Crossing songs are pretty serene, so there are a lot of songs that aren’t very suited to a fighting game. What to do, what to do...?
Then there’s this arrangement. As I sit and enjoy this song, it reminds me of one phrase in particular...
"Heroes always arrive late."
<Super Dragon>
It’s tough to know what to call Yoshi—some call him a dragon, others a dinosaur. Some people don’t know WHAT he is.
But whatever you call him, Yoshi’s true power will be seen here!
screenshot
He’s gotten the oft-mentioned Smash Ball!
screenshot
W-wings!
screenshot
He starts spewing out a jet of fire...
screenshot
But you can also press the button to spit out fireballs!
It feels like, um...beauty and elegance...mixed with clumsiness. Certainly, no one’s ever seen Yoshi like this!
Being able to fly around is nice, as is giving undivided attention to his attacks. Yoshi can live as he likes, for a brief period of time.

Oh, to think it’s already over...
This brings up an interesting situation here. As this is a boss fight in the intro, do you have to fight as Kirby, or does this mean the intro actually changes depending on who you play as?Petey Piranha
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl: The Subspace Emissary, it’s rumored that there will be boss appearances.
This time, I’d like to introduce the first boss you encounter: Petey Piranha!
screenshot
He... He’s huge!
screenshot
Too intense!
Locked in the iron cages he holds are the princesses, Peach and Zelda. He looks angry. Wh-what is he doing?
screenshot
He’s attacking with the iron cages!
You can save either Zelda or Peach, depending on which cage you damage more and subsequently break.
screenshot
What will happen to the one you don’t save?!
Off the top of my head, one of two things happens:Praxis wrote:I get the impression that you have to fight as Kirby...the story mode might not let you select your favorite character! Otherwise, what happens if you choose Peach and Petey captures you?
