I know the score show's "ass whuppin'" but did anyone else think that Illinios looked better against USC than they were expecting? Until they kept giving the ball away there was a time where I thought Illinois might actually make a game of it.

One thing is for certain Illinois running back Rashard Mendenhall helped himself if he decides to skip his senior year of eligibility and go pro. People already knew he had power but he was running away from the USC secondary and if he can do that he'll probably be alright speed wise in the NFL. :)

I was absolutely not surprised by Georgia taking it to Hawaii. I was hopeful that it would be closer but after seeing the Warriors struggle against Washington I didn't think they had much hope against a properly prepared and focused SEC bowl team. They didn't.

It looks like the Tennessee/Wisconsin and the Michigan/Florida games were decent enough, but it looks like the Texas Tech/Virginia game was more entertaining unless you are a Cavalier's fan. :)

I can't say that I was expecting Mizzou to level Arkansas but I thought they might be pissed off enough about not getting a BCS bid to win. I guess they were better than I thought...AND pissed. :D

To put it simply, the Warriors never stood a chance in the Sugar Bowl. Sure, they went undefeated this season —by knocking over a bunch of cupcake teams in their joke of a conference and a pair of Division I-AA schools along the way. They found themselves up against the big boys —a SEC team. A SEC team pissed off over losing its shot at the conference championship by tiebreaker points. A SEC team playing better than the team that got the nod to face LSU for that title game. It was a foregone conclusion that Hawaii were going to get their asses handed to them.

Hawaii went to the Superdome trying to prove that they deserved to be taken seriously. Georgia brutally showed them that they didn't.

Fuck! Fuckity Fuck Fuck Fucking Fuck! I'm not sure where the Ohio State Football Team is, but it's not anywhere near Louisiana. I suppose I'll have to go and eat crow, AGAIN!

I'm really getting sick of Ohio teams coming up just short of championships. Buckeye football 07 and 08, Buckeye basketball 07, Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavs.... I'm sick of it. They're all good but goddammit can one of them just win the thing already!

And this doesn't even include whatever whining I can do about the BCS system...

I watched most of one game out of all the Bowl games this year, and it was the 2nd-4th quarters of the Rose Bowl that was on in the background while I was futzing around with a couple of writing projects. Honestly the games have seemed pretty lame this year. Hardly a fitting end to such an awesome regular season.

Congrats to LSU, nice to know that a team that was given multiple chances to reclaim their shot at a national title finally proved they were deserving of it, and they did so when it counted the most. They've come a logn way since pissing away the Capital One Bowl a couple years ago on a hail mary play to Iowa.

A Big *puke* to OSU, who backed in to a national title game they had no business being in. If they hadn't lucked out a few years ago against Miami, their bowl record would be even more abysmal. 0-9 all time against SEC teams in Bowl games.

But rejoice fans, because with the season over and next year slowly approaching, Notre Dame fans are going to start crawling out of the woodwork again!
