+3 enchantment level, 18,000 gp, plus 300 for masterwork and 30 for being a dwarven waraxe. 18,330 gold pieces.

Assuming metalline and sure striking are +1 each (I'm sure someone earlier said that they were), it's 18,330 gp

Bah. I don't have enough money. I'll have to drop something. Maybe my Armour's fire resistance? Leave it Master-Crafted?

Some things you can drop without losing much:
Sure Striking nullifies alignment-based damage reduction. You won't run into that very often unless you plan on invading Heaven, Hell, or the Abyss. Metalline (cold iron) will work against most of the minor demons and devils anyway.
Dropping this takes your weapon from +3 to +2, saving 10k.
Fire resistance +10 costs 18k. A potion of fire resistance +10 costs 300 gp. If you have any forewarning that a fire attack is coming it'll protect you just as well.
You can reduce your shield's fortification level to light, gaining 12k. This change is less favorable than the others, since it actually does make you slightly more vulnerable.

Okay. If I drop the Fire Resistance and swap the Shield's Fortification to the Armour, then downgrade the shield to Masterwork, I can afford it with 4850 gp to spare. are there any other essential items I should have? A change of clothes (Explorer's outfit, 10 gp)? A donkey to carry my stuff (8gp)?

A set of medium armor to wear to bed (normally you'd need light, but you have Endurance which lets you use medium armor). You can't sleep well in heavy armor. If you had 9k I would've suggested making your full plate Mithral, which would make it medium instead of heavy (so you could sleep in it) and also reduce the armor check penalty.
An ordinary Breastplate is 200 gp. You can sleep in it with Endurance and it provides a +5 armor bonus (better than nothing) if you suddenly have to get up and fight.

Hrm. If I drop Sure Striking the cost of the Uber-Axe drops to 8,000 gp, right? In that case I can afford the Mithril and I have 6330 gp left. Right?

by Raxmei
Something like that.
I forgot that the Mithral cost includes the cost of masterworking, which you already had. The added cost is 8850, not 9000 (cost of mithral full plate: 10500 before enchantments). If you caught that before I did, good for you.

The SRD doesn't list a couple of items. Would I need a bedroll? Tent? Whetstone? Change of clothes?

Slap it down under "Misc things needed for survial" and slap a hundred gold down for it, should cover crap like bedrolls, blankets, lanters, oil, ect ect.
The only time you want to get something extra is in the case of wanting to be able to fit in and or if you want to do some... non-standard fighting.
Be glad I'm not playing a Thief or strait Fighter because I know me some nasty hillbilly/Viet-Cong tricks and how to fit them into the D&D world for maxium effect.

I'm putting another 3300 gp down for a locked mithril gauntlet, so my paraniod Dwarf never need fear losing his Axe, and 5000 gp for a type 2 Bag of Holding. With the 100 gp set aside for Misc Items (TM), that leaves me with 900 gp to start with. Sound good?
Edit: The name's Theoren Hawkeye.

I don't think it's strictly necessary to make the gauntlet out of mithral.
Can the guy who mentioned the metalline enchantment double check that? I'm getting some word on the WotC boards that it's a +2.

Hey, the Gauntlet's gotta match the rest of the armour.

Okay, so it's time to enter the details into 3edb, and- Hooooooooly SHIT! How do I calculate all this?!
Also, who's a good God for Theoren?

Depends on the alignment and character traits
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Fo ... ms_deities
There are several Dwarven Gods (scroll down on the page a bit), on top of all the other realms in the pantheon.

Since Allah is not a god in Faerun, you'll probably end up as one of the faithless, doomed to form a living wall around a city in the Fugue Plane, and probably get eaten by demons to boot.

I think the subcontinent of Zhakara is monotheistic, so tycho might not be doomed.

Hey, whatever happened to Posiedon? He's like, the perfect god for Cap'n Jack to follow, being both Chaotic Neutral (Yarr, tis the way of the sea) and god of oceans, ya dig? However, after discovering this in Hero Workshop (Pure Effect Limited), I can find no other mention of it.
Dude, where's my deity?

Ah, in my faerun, psionics don't exist. Don't forget I am the ultimate authority in this game, not the rulebook
It doesn't really matter, though could I ask why?
Heres my character

I still need to pick a domains, and spell lists. The non-core feats that I used are from the CA. Time zone GM-5
