No, he just doesn't like crazy, irrational little snot-nosed brats. Come to think of it, most people here don't either.
I think we have ourselves here a Net-rat.

I haven't read any books, but Imperial-class does sound retarded.
In the movies they call them "star destroyers" (Calamari), "imperial cruisers" (Han) but they don't call them Imperial-class. Imperator is a much nicer name, makes more sense, also I think the ones who got most stuff right were the guys at WEG, who call it Imperator, right?
BTW, this post was brought to you by Frungy, the sport of kings.

more viable sources say
Imperial-class then
Imperator-class.
and as its been said before.... it doesnt matter what
you think sounds better, its what's canon that goes. and although i will continue to argue for
Imperial, and others for
Imperator im sure, I dont see either side winning in the near future until we
hopefully find out without a doubt who is correct in SWep3. so let the arguing continue... pointlessly...

Just for information.Until few years ago there was a Kitty Hawk class aircraft carrier called America in service in the US Navy.An other carrier, called United States, was cancelled in 1949.

But the class'd be called America-class, not American class.

Yeah, only problem that sinking the USS United States would be a public relations disaster, as placing national namesakes on ships. Aferall, they are representing the namesake.

Evidently this was not considered an important factor at the time.

I did point out that ship's are rarely named things like Deutschland and America, but NEVER German-class or American-class. It's damn retarded.

Just Arrogant Ameriucans screaming you can't sink my Goddamn ship! Haha!
Officer: Sir, we've been torpedoed.
Oh, shit.
Vympel, yes it is quite retarded, though I thought the US had an American-Class, or it was a different Carrier type never brought too life.

Leoro DID point out that the word "imperial" has more meaning than a word like "american"...

you all seem to forget were talking about ships in the SW universe and not ours..... nomenclature does not have the same rules necasarily

GAAH NO NO NO NO NO NOT THIS STUPID IGNORANT ARGUMENT AGAIN!!!!
The SW Universe is patterened after real life in many aspects, the Republic and the Empire are the Roman Republic/Empire, ships are meant to represent real life ships so why should the nomenclature not follow this rule? Did you even read through the previous nomenclature debate or do you just enjoy trolling?

There is the problem with the original Republic-class Star Destroyer, IIRC, being known as the Obi-Wan according to WOTC if we'll be discussing nomenclature.
IF it was the Republic-class, then perhaps retroactively after serving it was rechristened the Obi-Wan, perhaps after nearly being destroyed and/or needing a refit and additionally to stave off the problem that the PR disaster that the destroying of the Republic would be.
As for the Nebula-class being renamed the Defender-class, I think there's a precedent in this for the American navy, when a sub imploded as respect and to avoid bad omens they renamed the class, IIRC. Perhaps the Nebula was lost in the Drieghton region referred to in the EU where several vessels (perhaps Acclamators trying to take a short-cut by cutting through dangerous space to a battle site?) vanished during the Clone Wars. Or perhaps a flaw in its design marked its destruction in a Nkollon-type system with a really intense star.

Oh yes of course. And did you see that thing on Han Solo's face that appears to be a nose? It's actually his liver, you know, because this is the SW universe, not ours.

A wuse dude once said:
Ignorance is not an opinion.
I mean sure, it's cute that you can make up stuff and say you believe in it because it's your opinion, but remember that everyone else if free to tell you just how wrong it is, 'k?
