We're having great fun. The attack is delayed to integrate Stormbringer into our disfunctional family, but it will get underway. We are in no hurry for things to end.

somehow I can just hear "Dueling Banjos" playing....

Well, if we're heading toward an endgame phase for this particular campaign, let's drag it just a bit so we can get Pcm back in, and Tycho if he's still up for returning, as well as giving Stormbringer time to get good and established.

That reminds me. Note to Stormbringer- We're figuring on doing occasional jumps with the storyline, a la the Eisenhorn trilogy. So after we finish this current chronicle, we'll probably be taking it somewhere twenty to forty years down the road or so before picking up again.

In otherwords the file cabinets are sentient beings and the odd clerk is sacrificed to there honor.

That was cool, IO.

Goodnight everyone.

your failing to realize the scope of the administratum

some of their filing cabinets have been lost to warp storms for centuries.

literally there are whole planets and moons that serve no other purpose but to act as storage facilities, for hard copy. Since the administratum also handels the thieths, and the census. Well they are also known as the most hated beings in the entire imperium. Their the taxmen, as well as the bean counters, who insist on someone cataloging every last bolter used, every last watt of power drawn from local grid etc. After all it's the emporer's powerplant, manufacturing center and all.

Rumors that auditors are souless abonimations with no sense of humour, compassion, etc, are very wide spread...

If some one can explain the gist of what's going on, the mission, the plan, etc and I'll be set enough for now.

PS: Varian scooped up those guys because he simply doesn't believe that winding troopers that followed his orders up in a penal legion would be best. He's a monodominant but he has a loyalty to those that aid him.

oh and after so many choas assults on engineering, the hydrogen fuel cell production system is badly damaged, lots of impurities, and leaks comming out of there, the main reactor's working fine, we're just not getting good hydrogen for the power systems, comming out...

The new ship should have no problem, but I would hate to be the person who has to explain that to the tech priests...

For those of you not dead.

He just did the sinister and mysterious thing again.

Last time he did the sinister and mysterious thing we had daemons everywhere, traitor marines running loose, the PsyKing and tens of thousands... at least... in the casualties.

Now we're on for planetary invasion. On a Necromunda style hiveworld.

And he's doing the sinister and mysterious thing again.

Well.

Should be interesting.

Well, I'm back. Just to ensure I've got a proper understanding of what's happened in my absence:

- We're preparing for an attack on Cyrus Gamma, a Hive world with a fucking massive population.
- We don't have nearly enough tranports for the job.
- Therefore, we intend to kill as many enemy leaders as we can, lure the rest into one place, then drop a big asteroid on them.
- We have no Iron Men to assist us.

Am I correct?

That pretty much sums it up. And another inquisitor has joined the party, to boot.

Adraxis, the world we are on, is also a hive world.

Hive world populations start at 100 billion and then go up. Cyrus Gamma has a mid range 300 billion. Necromundia probably has more than 500 billion.

So we can't win by just flooding the planet with endless waves of troops.

The basic strategy is correct. Because communication is cut off, we are fuzzy on details. Hive worlds tend to have good defences so just parking a ship in low orbit and bombing them or throwing a handful of torps probably won't cut it. We aren't wedded to it, it's just what we are leading with.

We have some Ad Mech forces, which probably includes some Iron Men. We also have a company of Sororitas and some veterans and stormtroopers. But the numbers are rather unforgiving unless there a fair number of loyalists remaining.

And this being a game run by NL, we decided that one regiment more or less wasn't going to matter and dedicated some hold space to a large quantity of lubricant, to make the inevitable at least a little more endurable. :D

IO, you might want to throw a briefing for our new inquisitorial presence, so he can officially get up to speed. I don't know what all rumors everybody else tossed his way, but I threw in some real whoppers.

Only Prius would think Lena is soft for wanting to blast people from orbit with gigaton level bombardment from capital ship gundecks.

could be worse Nathan was thinking of Marauder tropedo bombers doing the blasting. He was citing the rock drop as an extreme example of orbitl bombardment...didnt expect the idea to take ...

Is it just me, or does anyone else picture Nathan looking just like Typhonis's avatar?

Prius thinks anybody who favors killing a few million when killing a few billion would shave ten minutes off the timetable is a flaming pussy, what can I say?

As for the avatars... heh, I associate everybody with their avatar, except for Pcm, of course. When they posted the spoiler pics of Dooku's fate over in PSW, all I could think was 'Poor Jolan is not having a good day.'
