Anyway, my time here might be sporadic for next two weeks so don't worry about waiting.

Got some bidness in town, should be back in the evening. Feel free to do a gratuitous 'berating of the troops' scene, Yo-Bear.

By all means carry on then. Never let it be said that I get in the way of anybody's business of righteous death and destruction.

I have exams in the immediate future. I shan't be on much.

No worries, NL. If you can collect PMs and send marching orders to IO and myself, we can do a fine job of unleashing hell upon these foolish mortals.
Including ourselves, of course.
I say we launch the naval phase of the engagement tomorrow, then carry on to the ground engagement...
Assuming we survive the naval engagement and actually land an invasion force, of course.

Yep, finished For the Emperor. About 100 pages into Caves of Ice, which I know has necron goodness in it. Also rereading Chaos Child and Sabbat Martyr. Also working, doing a 40K mod of the Alternity system, and reading up on new battleships and battlecruisers. I love lances.

I'd seriously consider doing a Mekton conversion, but I know that I'm abominably lazy and would never finish it.
Yo-Bear needs to get off work so we can all get in on the cool-ass dueling and training action.

A Mekton conversion of BFG would be easy.

I know, I know. It's just... the writing and stuff.
Plus factoring in the boarding actions. That's the biggest thing that's missing from Mekton, other than actually making ship maps and conducting the battles, and then you'd have to use the mass battles system, given the numbers involved.

I have no knowledge of Mekton, so I can't comment.

Well that explains my unfamiliarity with it. I must confess to a knee-jerk avoidance of animae due to too many terrible encounters with annoying neon haired adolescents. I know that isn't completely fair and have enjoyed some parts of the genre, but I have been scarred by previous experiences.

Mekton Zeta kicked intense amounts of ass. It was the one-size-fits-all game for modeling any giant robot anime you could think of. The beauty and elegance of the system was that it was all effects based... you decided what the warships/fighters/mechs/giant monsters could do, then used the system to create them.
The rules are very easy and light, since it's designed to mimic flashing anime action.
I hardly ever got to play it, and sadly enough when I did get the chance I usually had abysmal players who made a hash of things.
(First and only game with one group, we had to do a reset because they were going to get themselves all killed in the first hour of the game. Finally they all ended up in prison anyway.)

Well, the nice thing is that it is highly flexible. You can use it to model just about any sort of tech or even fantasy stuff.
I was pondering the conversion 'cause it's MUCH cheaper than getting into BFG.

Well this is merely an RPG and well you can have technicolor haired adolecents.Designing a character was easy...you even got family and enemiesw...there was even power armor....

very easy could get away with using the basic book for that.

BFG is a fairly simple game so I am sure you could model it with another. With the rule book on line, the GW strategy is to bleed you with the figs (big surprise). If Mekton is fairly flexible, then you can probably model it without too much trouble. Hell, I can model it with the Alternity Warships supplement without too much trouble if I wanted to.

Nah, Mekton isn't Mekton without the techbook. I do love the character generation, though.

Oh yeah, Mekton can model ANYTHING, just about.
Typh also just pointed out to me that it'd work nicely for doing Titans, which I hadn't even thought of... now that would kick some serious ass.

Titanicus is another fairly simple game. You hit people with big guns faster than their VSGs regenerate and then you cut through their ridiculously tough armour like a hot knife through butter.
