Well, it's certainly going to be something for the news nets for some time. At this point, there will probably be an effort between any and all powers capable of using magic to ensure that the mages never return to finish the work they started. The Portals will be destroyed, drained of magical energy, and tossed into stars, if I have my way.
For future reference, I do have a plan against dug-in Mechanoid facilities such as this one. It may not be as quick as Pablo's solution, but it's far less costly in terms of lives lost, and will ensure we don't miss anything when obliterating them from a planet.
I'll have to leave for several hours shortly, but later tonight, we should try to get together on AIM and have a planning session so we can better coordinate this thing.

I'll have to see about getting some time on the good ol' AOL connection at home tonight, then. x_x I have the 7:30-9:00 shift at the library tonight, but they have it set so that I'd have to have administrative status to download anything; put it that way soon after one of my co-workers put Yahoo messenger on the front computer. Can't download AIM. (But Yahoo messenger is still on here, if you have that.)

I have Trillian, which means I have access to every messenger service there is pretty much. I'll try to get in Y! if I can. Maybe IRC would work better?

*Checks contents of the drive.* Nope. No IRC for me either. >_< Despite the excellent pay, there are disadvantages to working in a library with the computers set to keep patrons from wrecking them with ill-advised downloads...

Whoa... Tycho, I don't want to see your planet destroyed in a nova, I really don't. But don't you think being able to shut off your power grid in exchange for a hundredfold increase in shield strength is a bit much?

Nitram's bluffing anyway
Supernova weapons are WAY beyond the power level for the game.
If he actually tries to do it, i'm sure the game mod will smack him down.

Stargate. Put one in a Black Hole, dial it with another, drop it into the sun. Bang. You're dead.
Less Metagaming bullshit from you would be a lovely thing.

I know, but so are planet cracking devices, and Dahak's used those for mining purposes. Nothing said.

Not really, after all Nitram gets to use supernova weapons.

And the power grid is rather extensive, and was designed to be able to pour power into the shields/planetary guns in emergencies.

How the hell did you get two fucking stargates?

Stargate. Put one in a Black Hole
Period, end of sentence. Put it in a black hole and its utterly destroyed; I don't care what it is. Next plan.

And how do we even know that the stargates can even survive being put in a black hole, much less have an effect *insert technobabble with subspace tunnel* on a star in the other end?

Captured a Ha'tak and the two distant bases the Gou'ald maintained.
And this is really annoying. We have people bitching I get supernova weapons when I could simply be bluffing. OH WAIT. I'm not ALLOWED to do anything but ravenously run at you, because you're all a bunch of fucking METAGAMING TWINKS. Sorry, forgot that actually playing the game was beyond you.

Sorry, Canon event. Was used against Apophis' fleet by the Tok'ra/SG-1. Blow me, have a nice day.

He's right.
A stargate will survive for a Loooooooooong time inside of a black hole
(I think at least a month went by between the black hole episode, and Exodus)
That counts as a supernova weapon, and if the mods allow it, then it's fine by me.
(Nitram, exactly when did you capture the two gates?)

This isn't Stargate, if you recall.

And how are you even supposed to communicate with it when any incoming signal will be reduced to random garble?

It all depends on the will of the moderator........

I captured two sites the Gou'ald were dialling out to, Omega Site and the other one whose greek letter I forget.
Now. In universe, no one knows this. They know I was handed full skematics to the Stargates. In universe, all you know is I'm threatening it, wearing down a shield grid, and have a ship in position.
If you lot are ready to stop metagaming, we'll continue.

Why should communication matter? Or are you now claiming technology to jam Stargates?

How long will it take for the fleets deployed from Toril to reach Halo?
(Since there's no map, i've got no idea how far it is.)

Well, In-game my goverment doesn't believe you, since they ALSO have stargate schematics and possession of a gate.

Then they're unsalvagable retards for being unable to see the use. Gravity travels through, therefore...

My fleet just started travelling back to Halo just hours before the siliconoid fleet arrived, so they're only about 20 some hours away going at normal speed However, they jumped to Tier 5 (basically, emergency warp-speed), so they'll be there in less than 10 hours.

Assuming that my fleets are traveling at maximum safe hyperspace speed
(Rather than the recklessly fast speeds your going.)
It should take between ten and eleven hours, and could be cut to between nine and ten if they were willing to make unsafe jumps and lose a few ships. (which they aren't.)

No, he's claiming that the black hole will stop communication with the gate.
Furthermore, it'd be metagaming if we were using all this knowledge to call your bluff
in game. We are not doing so. This is the OOC thread. Until someone has an admiral say "Oh, they can't have supernova tech because its not allowed" in the game, no metagaming has occurred.
