Don't worry, I did a bit of that too. If it's not one thing it's another lately. First the computer, then a cold and some other stuff, and I've got a new job to be preparing for... Busy busy busy. I should get an organiser program set up to bug me to write these things...

Y'know, I wasn't picturing Ajax as a pyrokine, but now that I've been inside his head when he's angry...that might change, heh.

As for exterior manifestations, there've been so many contradictory bits written of what that'd look like that I'll let you set that up, since it's your flavour of the universe, NL

As an aside, I was originally planning on using Divine Shot and a man-portable lascannon. Yes, I'll take 5D10+10 with a penetration of 'your ass' on an auto-hit, thank you very much. :D

"I don't know if he's a psyker, but he keeps hitting things with it."

"MY TESTICLES ARE ON FIRE! BY THE EMPEROR, MY TESTICLES ARE ON FIRE!!!"

After we catch this bastard, can we leave for base? I want exp and a wench or two.

Okay, but only if you spend exp on the wenches.

...er...what career path gets to do that, again?

I'm going to make this psyker pay for the grenade and the trap. Stinking psykers, how dare the not want to have their brain torn apart, be branded, go nuts and then be sent out to the front line to die with the Guard. I mean really? Jerks!

Okay, I've gotta ask, why is the feral world guardsman the one disarming the bomb?!?

After you catch this bastard, Lord Regis will pat you on the back, give you some spending money, and tell you to relax on the pleasure world for a bit.

Because I just now noticed that Recondite War started back up again, and because nobody has the Demolitions skill, which means that none of us can properly disarm the explosive. It would have to take a "I'm Red Mage Statscowski" interpretation of the skill to stretch Tech Use to extend it to include proper demolitions.

Couldn't we just pull Scar & co up and drop a grenade down the pit to blow up the bomb? After all, it is a pressure door.

Oh I'm just looking for a simple switch or a blasting cap. Something easy. If it's something complicated Scar won't be touching it.

Come to think of it, using a visible-spectrum laser is a really stupid way to set up your trap. For it to work, you need to have a laser emitter, some sort of photocell (most likely not color-sensitive, though I wouldn't want to try my luck), and in this case a mirror which reflects the beam from the emitter to the photocell. Once the light from the laser stops hitting the photocell, the bomb assumes that the beam has been broken and detonates. To circumvent the tripwire, you would need to introduce a second laser (or redirect the path of the first) such that nothing crosses between the second beam (or the redirected first) and the reciever.

This would be near-impossible to do with a modern-day system that used infrared beams because unless you have the benefit of augmetic vision or an auspex/surveyor of anything beyond minimal quality, but this is a green (i.e. visibible-spectrum) laser. Still, it requires us to have a mirror or laser handy. In other words, it would still be easier to pull back and blow it up.

Do we get a visit from Caiphas Cain? :D

I need prompting, man. I can't say "Crom followed Krine skittishly to the jeep where he sat down and pistol-whipped Kringe", because I can't assume that far.

Unless you give me something to work with, I'm making some shit up.

The cult did try an infrared beam way back when. It had... problems for them. So now it's a visible laser so the stupider cultists can avoid getting confused and opening the door while the beam is on. "If the light is on, do not open the door" And there's a simpler way to get around this.

So what's the status on the mindfuck attempt and Ajax's attempted rejection thereof? I'm sorta in limbo til that's worked out.

Successful. Now it's trying, and failing, to get at Darien. The dice gods really loathe this psyker. That really should have been a fate-point burning moment of terror...

So, is the tunnel an entrance to a larger network of maintenance tunnels running underneath the town proper, or is it a simple purpose-built escape?

Yeah I was kind of waiting for Scar to do something since he seemed eager to be down the tunnel first...and has a chainsword.

But screw it.

So, I find myself wishing that we had the Inquisitor's Handbook starting packages available when we drew up these characters.

Also, having the dual-wield talents and a pair of Kronos Mk III plasma pistols would be quite awesome. A plasma weapon that doesn't overheat when fired normally?
