I really liked the latest episode, it was dark and the suspense worked. The lightsaber fights were awesome, they looked dangerous and a couple of times it really looked like Ventris is about to score a kill.

None of the fights so far have been compelling because we know Anakin, Obi-Wan, Grievous and Dooku have to stay alive for the next film, so there's zero suspense for me. That's why I liked this duel, with two out of three characters up in the air (hey, if Lucas decided he wanted to kill off Ventress, the comics people wouldn't be able to say jack shit about it), it's a lot more suspenseful. Not to mention the clone-centric episodes.

I also liked the huge amount of bodies piling up throughout the corridors as the episode progressed. Nice little show of how much the boarding cost the crew.

Unfortunately, I knew Ventress wasn't going to score a kill because we see Luminara Unduli on Kashyyyk in RotS. Ergo, she cannot die. And obviously Padawan Bratz isn't going to die.

Nor could Commander Gree, since Yoda cut his head off on Kashyyyk :)

Ventress should have killed Asoka, considering that she was able to scar Anakin and got very, very close to killing him. In other news: Clones can't hit droids when they are 20 feet away.

Also, they ripped of the boarding ships from Andromeda.

Other than that, this was an excellent episode.

The thing that interested me about this one is that it definately suggests that the writers just make whichever side is losing fail to hit almost any of the enemy at all. It's not necesserily just the B1s that have this severe incompetance. It's the predestined losers.

I find this particularly grating, but since there were SBD "corpses" lying around, we know that the clones got their shots in. It wasn't a completly one sided massacre.

Since I saw at least one SBD take a blaster shot and shrug it off, I think these were up-armored variants of SBDs, and they advanced to the prison bay too quickly for the clones to get to an armory and break out heavy weapons.

Sorta like that episode of Neo-BSG where the uber-centurions boarded the galactica.

Last episode was probably the best or second best so far. Finally the bad guys accomplished something!

But wasn't anyone else bothered about how empty the Acclamator was? You'd expect there to be some technicians in the engine room, or some clone troopers guarding it. Come to think of it, pretty much every starship/city has been completley empty. Even the Malevolence. It's bridge was smaller that that of an Acclamator!

That was some pretty lame boarding defense by the clone troopers. Aren't there supposed to be thousands of them on an acclamator? or was this ship flying only with a skeleton crew?

With Lucas backing up the project, you'd expect they could shell out 80,000 dollars for a copy of Massive to add some life to the series. That's probably my biggest gripe with it...it's just so empty!

I assume you mean a Venator, as that was what they were on. There wasn't any flight crew or big clone groups like we see in other episodes so I can only imagine the flight was with minimal crew.

THat was actually the same ship being used to hunt escape pods in the Malevolence arc.

Well, they ripped of the style of the attack, that's for sure. Magog swarmships impacting on the Andromeda looked pretty much the same.

Except that swarm ships weren't one hit punctures. Besides, other than cutting through the hull, what other methods are there for forced entry onto a space ship (no, forcing an airlock doesn't count here).

Apparantly, George Takei will voice a Neimodian officer in an upcoming story. When's the Shat gonna be on, I wonder.

Nope, Takei's gonna be a guest star. A Neimoidian general who wants to test some funky kind of neutron bomb on a planet of Lemurs, Maridun. An established planet from the EU, but with some differences from previous stories, I reckon.

I always wondered if Neimoidean was a play on Nimoy.

Sneaky move there by Grievous to bag that padawan.

Contrary to the history of Grievous' past given by Eyes of Revolution (Is it even canon?), this episode suggests that Grievous actually took on cybernetic augmentation voluntarily over a period of time as illustrated by the statuary in the lair. Rather than being resentful, he actually sees his cyborg state as a positive opportunity to be a stronger warrior.

I see it more as denying reality. His post-mechanization leads to a state of denial, where he obsesses over his prosthetics as a personal choice, rather than coercion by Sith Lords. Notice how angry he gets over the medical droid's use of "submitting to the procedure", or how he complains to Dooku about only getting battle droids for troops.

Dave Filoni tells of how he kept the differing backgrounds for Grievous in the end by not revealing too much of either. I think that was the best approach, given I like the original version of events. If anything, it's not hard to merge them, given Grievous' early life had some mystical elements to it, and he could have admired/envied the warrior-monks of the Republic.

The statuary could easily be explained using the EU origin (which I personally like, a lot) quite simply; he wants guests in his lair to have the idea that he augmented himself by choice.

Also, Seperatist (Southern) Hospitality. Heh.

Fuck, I missed the Ventris episode. Guess I'll have to try Youtube now.:(

Anyway, has anyone seen teasers for the next episode yet? I've heard nothing. I know some shows take a break at Christmas, is that the case here?
