I think Bean, you'd be best to just "build" the carriers' airwings right at game start year. They would cost 11,6 points, be ready in a month and there you go. Or, what Thanas said.

Actually, you could even rationalize it as air wing change (from obsolete late-WWI planes to newer first post-war planes).

Thanas wrote:The rules say that carrier aircraft have to come from your airforce total. I would imagine you can built new aircraft relatively cheap and easy, though. I mean, 116 aircrafts would cost you 11.6 point total only.
No see here's the thing. My entire goal is to dick over my Army as much as possible so I'm just fine with my air force being almost entirely Naval based. 116 of 240 is active duty "combat" aircraft. The rest being made up of small squadrons of coastal flying boats. With maybe... MAYBE two full army squadrons of Bristol Scout's as fighters. No Camels no Dolphins. I could certinally use some other country coming forward and offering to sell me a few squadrons since they are easy to make in a hurry.

Seriously, the Army gets dicked over, no planes period. Maybe they get one squadron maybe two. Mostly? Naval, Naval and more Naval. If it's not a flying boat it's a Torpedo bomber. If it's not a Torpedo bomber it's a Navy Fighter.

Ok OOB is pretty much complete.

The Royal Navy can put to sea...

Four Aircraft Carriers
Eighteen Battleships
Twelve Battle cruisers
Fifteen Heavy Cruisers
Fifty Light Cruisers
One hundred and fifty eight Destroyers
120k tons worth of Minesweepers and support craft(Might up that to 220 since I still have 100k left)
Sixty five Submarines

Several of the Heavy Cruiser's could easily be called Battlecruiser's or vis-versa so there's some blur there. Only the HMS Hood and her improved sister ships can be called true battlecruiser's in the post war model of very fast heavily armed ships and only moderately armored ships. Best part is, by sticking with historical ships I don't have to think up names! I can just look them up! No idea how much time that saves for posting.

Not bad, though that many aircraft carriers may be a tad much for this era.... wait, you're using the historical conversions right? Maybe not then.

Aircraft aren't nearly so potent yet at least. And people better not try to make them so, I may have to give them some... bad luck....

Three Carriers are conversion jobs, one from an Italian Ocean liner (HMS Argus), two Conversions of Mediterranean Cruisers (HMS Furious & HMS Courageous) and one purpose built aircraft carrier the HMS Hermes. All historically accurate.

Yep. I used Hermes as a base for my sole carrier, Yakama. But my air tech is inferior so I may wait before building more carriers. Dunno.

Um, Coyote, I don't think Hitler tried the Beer Hall Putsch this time. Arguably he may not even be a Nazi; no German defeat in WWI, no disaffection. He'd still be an army vet but of a victorious Germany that is in partial union with the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Still, if Thanas wants to have him as such I'm okay with it.

The Navy always gets first (And pretty much only) funding priority in the British military so the Airforce knowing trying to become their own branch would be a losing proposition attached themselves to the Navy in order to get the funding needed to become a substantiation force. Not a great force because Admiral's are never happy giving up money to get spent on Cruiser's and Battleships for more training time. Or extra parts. But the fact they exists at all and are all not flying 1913 Avro 504's and instead have SOME more modern aircraft (More modern as in 1915's and 1916's but still...) as far as planes go it's the Wright Brother's aircraft, the Avro 504(1913) or the Bleriot XI(1909) until 1914.

A minor quibble Cyote, the big motivation of Hitler was that the German Empire was destroyed after the great war, this never happened. This, combined with fact that Thanas has some deceny means that Adolf is never going to get political, just a run of the mill bigot with a silly moustache in this timeline.

I was thinking he'd be the Glenn Beck of this world-- a art-dropout whiner seeking props. His hate gains no traction this time around precisely because there's no dissatisfaction, so he's a laughingstock this time around. But ultimately, it is up to Thanas, and I can edit it out.

I was looking up "1925" significant events in Wikipedia and that was the year Mein Kampf was published, so I figured, "what if this guy becomes little more than a pathetic Rush Limbaugh type figure, maybe with a radio show that no one listens to..."

While he was certainly influenced by Lauger and the anti-Semites of pre-WWI Vienna, without defeat in WWI Hitler might never have become so fully anti-Semitic.

For irony you should find some Italian figure living in the "occupied lands" who is anti-Semitic, charging that the Jews "betrayed Italy!" and all that. :D

What's "My Struggle" in Italian?

I will deal with Hitler and his putsch attempt. For now, he is nothing but a railing idiot who is considered a lunatic by the establishment. Though Rathenau would still be alive.

So in that sense, your post is pretty much correct. I was wondering if we should use more german-Jewish relationship development to push Hitler over the edge and trying to do something stupid....I've got quite the right medicine for him.

I'm still curious why Hitler would actually be anything more than a vaguely anti-Semitic German war veteran who is pleased to see Germany triumphant... assuming he wasn't, heh, killed fighting the Italians.

Maybe he thinks Germany's getting too soft and should have capitalized on its victory by marching on the USSR, which is filled to the brim with JEWISH BOLSHEVIKS! RIGHT AT GERMANY'S FRONT DOOR! THEY WILL OVERRUN THE GOOD ARYANS WITH DESPICABLE SLAVIC/JEWISH BOLSHEVISM! WARRRGHARBLE!

Or something to that effect. I know that's how ol' Ungern-Sternberg is feeling at the moment.

Could someone please describe how the Freedom Conference is laid out? I mean is it a closed conference for specially invited parties, or is it open to any announced guests? How many reporters are there? Are there any big public dinners planned? In short what's going on down there?

I'm curious about this myself. Would like to know the details before I have my Rep fly in from Montevideo and such.

I kind of assumed a large conference sort of thing with the representatives all around, speaking in turn or the like. I hope I am not wrong, what with my response.

If that turns out to be wrong, I'm going to have to do some editting.

And I haven't forgotten what a powerful force early Socialism and Communism was in the early days of Israel; in fact many of the earliest Europeans to move there were actually motivated by the desire to establish a worker's paradise. I'll bring in more characters eventually to reflect that-- kibbutznik communists from Russia, maybe, in Beer-Sheva; factory workers in Ashkelon, etc. It's not just the coastal socialites.

This is what I had in mind as well, how it's going to be conducted, though, I'm not sure. Will we have our Reps speak up and voice opinions/present points, issues, ideas, etc. to generate discussion? (More IC Dynamic) Kind of like.. well, a forum of sorts. Or will there be some order in which we post for our Reps and such so that everyone gets a chance to speak on a point? (More OOC Structured)

Dunno. Though the official proposals seems to saw frothing in the mouth anti-communism with a mix of fascist ideas, ie the use of interpol to hunt down communists...
