Heh. Heh. It's a little late for politicking. Here's some free advice- Talk to neutral powers. The Veithans are of particular interest, as are the rest of the Accord, the Baeloreans, and the Vampires.
Get your fill of sci-fi, science, and mockery of stupid ideas

Well after all that shit that Straha spewed about how evil I am, I daresay he'd take precautions.Thirdfain wrote:Oh, and you are sending a fleet carrier as a fucking first contact envoy. WTF?

Which will be happening. You think he's going to stop after he's done with us? And frankly, I'd call SPARTANs more than an inconvenience.Bugsby wrote:You're way too paranoid. Will, i be attacked, and if so by whom, or will i be left alone.
The answer to these question and more on the next AS THE GALAXY GOES TO HELL IN A HAND BASKET aka the STGOD
*shrug* When it comes to badass Specfor, I've got more in terms of quantity and quality. And frankly, I'd call SPARTANs more than an inconvenience.
I sure s hell think I will be. I'm gonna take heavy losses, and won't be in position to smash anyone when this war winds down.Which will be happening. You think he's going to stop after he's done with us?
Dont be putting down my SPARTANs. They may not be modified like the ones in HALO, but they will be soonThirdfain wrote:*shrug* When it comes to badass Specfor, I've got more in terms of quantity and quality. And frankly, I'd call SPARTANs more than an inconvenience.
Considering that your 50% firepower advantage was used in blasting my escorts to smithereens (I have suffered over four time more escort casualties than you), my very superior shield resistance and the fact that it had to retreat because it almost lost all shielding, I think that current situation is fair. Some small damage is acceptable, but no failure of critical systems, for I would have also appreciated it if you had staid for the fighting.Murazor, considering my 50% firepower advantage and my sacrificing of most o f my bomber units in attacking your capships, I'd appreciate if you took, in fact, heavieer casualties to your capship wall than I did, i.e, that last Attack Carrier should be damaged or destroyed.
I'm sure you would have, but I wasn't in the mood to commit Fleet Seppuku just to cripple an equal number of your ships.Considering that your 50% firepower advantage was used in blasting my escorts to smithereens (I have suffered over four time more escort casualties than you), my very superior shield resistance and the fact that it had to retreat because it almost lost all shielding, I think that current situation is fair. Pearl Harbor was a suprise attack without a war, that's why it was such an effective propaganda ploy for Roosevelt. This is like leaving Pearl Harbor unguarded after you've been at war with the Japanese for days, and then when you know Pearl Harbor is about to be attacked, not rushing you carriers/active battle fleet there to help them when you very well could.Rogue 9 wrote:On the contrary, this sort of attack is going to recreate the Pearl Harbor effect, and I intend to play that out.Stormbringer wrote:Well, you're not there now are you? And in about ten minutes neither are those defenses either. At the very least that sort of defeat is going to cause a massive civil unrest and I intend to play that out, with the mod's permission. This is going to cost you.Rogue 9 wrote:Who's not showing up? Please, point to where I said that.
And of course if this is the prelude to some hairbrained scheme let me use this now:
Just so you know, that would be like going out of your way to spit/kick/smack Monacora in the balls, then try to steal our girlfriend, mother, father, grandparents, brothers, kids, all the while posting inimate pictures of Monacora's private moments on the web for open laughter and ridicule.Agent Fisher wrote:Dont be putting down my SPARTANs. Or, to give a more recent analogy, like what Germany did to Britain when it tried to build a navy before WWI.
So... don't. Or if you do, make sure you get our approval first (I.E. you ally with us, then you slowly go through the steps with our careful eye watching you while you start making super-soldiers, then stopping the program when and where we tell you to stop)
Are you on crack?!?Rogue 9 wrote:On the contrary, this sort of attack is going to recreate the Pearl Harbor effect, and I intend to play that out.
Unless you invested a lot more into that sheild than you have apparently have, it's not going to hold up to the undivided attention of half a navy for long.Rogue 9 wrote:Also, that planetary shield can hold for hours. It does not take hours for my fleet to mass and come down on you like a ton of bricks. If you really plan on taking and holding Mintar, let me use this now:
Glad about this. I will be posting several things later today or early tomorrow in order to recover the pace. How many days behind the other campaigns are us exactly?Thirdfain wrote:I'm sure you would have, but I wasn't in the mood to commit Fleet Seppuku just to cripple an equal number of your ships.
Agreed, BTW, on your losses. My bad.
As for the interdictors, I see them as having a max range about equal to max gun range, so you can tacjump into missile range against an interdictor protected fleet (though we all know the problems with tacjumping...)
Why would Monacora give a damn about his sovereignty when they're doing something Monacora doesn't like?Alyrium Denryle wrote:Or, you know..he could keep his sovereignty
Nope. You guys did. We defended one of our allies from someone not in the Unification, and the Unification just goes and blindsides us. We hardly initiated war with you.The Alliance initiated the war.
1.) Unjustly so, and 2.) are now escalating the war in a big way.The Asgard have declared war and have made prior attacks.
For a good half an hour while I gather my fleet. Ooooooo, scary! You were the one that cut and ran.
Yep.AND YOU EXCEPT YOUR PEOPLE TO GAIN A MORALE BOOST?
Nope.Once again, I will ask: are you on drugs?
It won't have to.Unless you invested a lot more into that sheild than you have apparently have, it's not going to hold up to the undivided attention of half a navy for long.
Fine, but that is basically what they're going to do at first.Oh, and unless you're planning on posting an OOB, I'll assume all the ships got out the backdoor as I get there.
Why would he give a damn about telling Monacora what he's doing with his special ops forces?SirNitram wrote:Why would Monacora give a damn about his sovereignty when they're doing something Monacora doesn't like?Alyrium Denryle wrote:Or, you know..he could keep his sovereignty
It'd be asking alot for you to stop being a hypocritical little liar and keep the IC in the IC thread, wouldn't it?Rogue 9 wrote:Nope. You guys did. Threat of asskicking. Promise of trade agreements. Potential alliances. You know, all those things nations exercise over each other every day, but you're completely unfamiliar with.Rogue 9 wrote:Why would he give a damn about telling Monacora what he's doing with his special ops forces?SirNitram wrote:Why would Monacora give a damn about his sovereignty when they're doing something Monacora doesn't like?Alyrium Denryle wrote:Or, you know..he could keep his sovereignty
Um, bullshit?Quote:

Yep.
Who's lying? The Ousters are not in the Unification, they were unilaterally attacking an Alliance member, the purpose of the Alliance is to keep such things from occurring, and you honestly think we wouldn't do anything about it? Besides, as any sane human being can see, Thirdfain's stated goals are inhuman and unacceptable to civilized societies. His stated goal was to murder over 6 million civilians! What part of this do you not comprehend? The Unification is going to war to prevent us from stopping the Ouster genocide, and now as my populace sees it, they are trying to put an end to the Republic. What do you think they're going to do, eh? Agitate for me to stop fighting so they can be rolled up and added to the Asgard Stellar Empire? I think not.SirNitram wrote:It'd be asking alot for you to stop being a hypocritical little liar and keep the IC in the IC thread, wouldn't it?Rogue 9 wrote:Nope. You guys did. Again, as we've been over, the Alliance made this a war. The Unification was standing back, ready to grab Thirdfain's leash if he did more than he vowed he would. But, you leapt straight into the trap, turning this from a well-contained tragedy to a full blown war. The Alliance declared war as a bloc. The Unification responded. Deal with it.
