Vasqeuz moves to the edge of the village, alert as always.

Connar lifted the radio on his shoulder and held it towards his mouth to speak into, holding down the transmiter. Kids usually didn't yell like that unless something was about to go awry.

"Allen, come in...we may have a problem up here, care to come and translate?"

He removed his finger from the button and sighed.

"I really should learn that damn language."

Allen turns to the old man again

"I am sorry but it seems we have a problem"

He goes to translate the yelling children

The children are shouting that people have come through the Circle. They say there are lots of them, lots and lots...

I turn to the Elder and tell him to have the villagers hide wherever they can. Not only were these men not Gods messangers, but chances are, they actually intended to do some sort of harm to them. They had enslaved other countries before.

".......oh shit. Sir, should we set up a defensive position?"

Heh heh. Can't wait to test out these mines.

"Sir, I recommend we hightail it outta here. We can't possibly hold this village, our only chance is to retreat into the jungle or the ruins."[/i]

"Nah, Jaafa fight stupid. And from what reports i've seen, are also crappy shots. We put a few landmines and explosives in key places, we can hold them off."

With all due respect, until we know their numbers, we cant possibly make a plan. We should have the villagers hide, and we should hitail it out. We need to be smart, those Jaffa are coming from the other side of the gate, probably a base, or a ship. We are outnumbered and outgunned.

"Then their first action would be to occupy the gate, we can fight them here in a defensive position, or fight them later when THEY are in a defensive position."

"Standing here, in a poorly defensible position, with civilians around, is hardly the best choice. However, we can't allow them to secure the gate either, so I say we find a better position nearby and attack them from there."

He sighed and pushed off the wall to close the distance between Allen and himself to speak properly with him

"Allen, Try and convince these people their best bet is to seek shelter elsewhere...preferrably those ruins..we can at least set up a defensive perimeter there for the time being. Do it quickly"

Connar lifted the radio once more and spoke into it

"Vasquez, Move ahead and find out exactly what their numbers are....stay silent and out of sight. all I need are their numbers..."

"Leah, get ready to move. Our priority are these people"

He paused for a moment and continued on

"Lets move quickly people. I won't leave these civilians here to die at the hands of the Goa'uld...or worse."

"If the Goa'Uld want something in those ruins, it would be best for the people to use their knowledge of the terrain to hide in the woods..."

"If you stay, you will probably die. I suggest that you seek shelter in a place other than the village. We will try to hold them off as best we can, but they want something in the city ruins, and they will stop at nothing to get it"

Vaquez hefted her gun, then ran off into the forest in the direction of the gate. After a few moments passed, she crouched down and began to move slowly through the underbrush.

Leah stays alert.

The elder nodded at the Doctors words, turning and organizing his people.

As Vasquez moved through the undergrowth, there was a stillness over the jungle...

The village people began to get organized, and head deeper into the jungle.

Vasquez dropped into a defensive position, trying to stay hidden as she listened.. The jungle going silent meant only one thing...
