Two tidbits: his books are apparently popular with the troops and he has a contract to deliver some books, he has two more Black Company novels kicking away in his brain. They won't be coming out for a couple of years, but he does have the ideas and the titles worked out.

No worries. We're in kind of a slow cycle right now anyway.
I won't but it's good to know there's nothing to worry about.

Hmmm, that's rather interesting. There doesn't seem to be much to warrant, or fill, two more books. And I have to say I was less than impressed with the last four book cycle. Still, I'll have to look them up.

No, I wasn't impressed with anything after Dreams of Steel. I got the impression he was just writting them because he felt he had too. I'm hoping if he's going to write some new ones, it will be because he wants to (and thus be better).
I should aknowledge that She is the Darkness and Soldiers Live (especially the Dread Empire reference) weren't bad. They just weren't up to the standard of the first six.

hopefully the troops can read the new black company books in the comfort of the USA by the time they are published...

That makes a difference. Hmm. So about three hours from pacific time which me and Yosemite are on and a little ahead of our Texan. And then there is Pcm.
Earlier (for us western boys) it must be.

Pater complimented Prius' skills and abilites profusely, and declared him the Emperor's gift to humanity. He stifled a snigger.

People should sing out on whether they are going after the warlord or going to link up with the holdouts.
Gix is going for the warlord.

Shit. Gotta go soon. I'll try to check in occasionally, but I'll probably mostly be offline until very late. IO gets the pitch in my absence, if there's heretics in need of the Final Absolution.

'Few surprises' consisting of a few tripwire mines, and the pods themselves are rigged to blow with proximity sensors. Just harassment tactics, nothing serious.

they are all "unclean" charlie style. (fuzzy dice, nascar stickers, extra weapons, extra armour, yes that whine is the nitrus system...)

Cool, Yo-Bear. The penal legions aren't dropping with the Sword, they're dropping with the main combat force. Being expendable and all, they get the honor of leading the way.
Sorry to cut and run, but I gots to gets the sleeps.

that's ok
hoped that the sword appreciated the sisterhood hospitaller assist though, besides wild squiggoths couldn't keep Fawkes out of a firefight...
