Supreme Leader's Office, the Citadel, Mirakar, Miratia
Ryan watched a recording of the landing over the Citadel intranet with a mixture of awe and resentment. On the one hand, Terra Novan astronauts had landed on Selene. On the other, they'd landed there in a MESS machine. Certainly, FASTA would be arriving there shortly; who arrived there first was meaningless from a technological standpoint. That was a non-issue. In fact, with the levels of funding both organizations were recieving, the matter of who would land first had looked as fickle as a coin toss. The snivelling masses, however, were an entirely different animal...
Miratia needed a distraction. Something to take their minds off of this "defeat", as they'd view it.
But first, to more immediately relevant things, he thought. Ryan brought up an instant-messaging window with his secretary on one of the huge monitors that hung over his desk. His earpiece transcribed his words.
