I didn't, and I would've liked to know that a while ago because now I have to rejig my wiki entry...

Core Sectors ... One natural Earth-like Planet and four planets of Near-Earth or Terraformed type, not counting numerous mining colonies, science outposts, and space habitats.
So at least for Home/Core Sectors it's been that way for quite some time.

Unless Steve's changed mind means this is no longer valid. That would be a little annoying.

For a comic, it isn't very comic, if you catch my drift.

Unrelated note; I vote for Simon because of peer pressure his obvious qualified-ness for the job.

You know, it occurs to me that not permitting their nation a viable and free Esper population is what's making the Shepistanis so vulnerable to this demented, evil crab creature. Espers would probably have sensed its presence here and there, enough to make the crab-hunt more accurate. Instead it's running around with a Null-Field to hide itself.

I suspect that as soon as this is realized Shepistan will ban Null-Fields and require everyone to use BFGs.

This is why people should listen to Dr. Susie! You see what happens when you don't listen to her? Browncoat insurrections and psychically-deranged doggies eating children! Her hatred of her home country is completely rational. There are very good reasons for it.

Yes! Listen to Doctor Susie!

Also, quick reply up. I don't have time for serious writing today, I'm afraid, but I do have some ideas (routed via Dr. Sivana, of course) for how to combat the Amplitur menace with the power of SCIENCE!

Yeah, it tickles me in the way a creepy uncle does between asking if I want candy, and before he pretends to be a catholic priest.

I think I have to vote for Simon as well. Not that Shep is a bad choice, but I am generally leery of anyone who would advocate preemptive strikes moderation.

Anywho, I am back in for a bit. Until school starts at least. Maybe I will actually put up a force org chart (finally).

Mayabird, send me a PM with what you want to discuss whenever you feel like it. I am happy working off your time schedule unless you want me to take some initiative as well.

Well that's the point. I was thinking of Shep as a poison pill option to spice things up.

Urgh finally caught up should've been working on my finals project which is due in the morning oh well.

Elect Simon, for SCIENCE!

@chaotic neutral your hyperspace junctions and what not are just going to make it easier for someone with larger numbers of smaller ships and carrier fleets to hit multiple targets simultaneously and then fade away when your super heavy units show up. I'm betting your doctrine looks similar to the Prussians just with ships 10x heavier.

Presumably hyperlanes are monitored so that he can't just be hit with an overwhelming force with no warning, much like my Monoliths couldn't just show up over Solaris and blast it to shit willy-nilly...

I keep ~ 1/4 of my fleet at each planet. My ships are tough enough to survive until they get reinforcements.

What the hell is a monolith anyway? I don't want to read the previous story threads to simulate not knowing anything about the galaxy. All I know is that one of them are over 10,000$, which would take all 7 of my ISDs to destroy one. Goddamn Necrons, they always were overpowered.

Plus someone said my arrival would attract your race like flies to shit...

So you keep ~$12,000 points in each system? This raises the question of who's protecting the shipping between Sectors and patrolling the space around the four systems you've colonized? A big concern I would think considering you're so close to the Orks.

Furthermore what about other star systems within your sectors? IIRC sectors are 50-100ly across and generally contain multiple star systems. Do you send patrols out to them to look for hidden pirate bases or foreign listening post? Or do your forces constantly remain in the four systems you've colonized? Do squadrons ever sortie for other reasons?

Sorry, I meant 1/4 per map square, it doesn't matter too much, since the interdictors in planet orbit keep ships from jumping away, and I have two ISDs at each planet, meaning they can just wait for reinforcements if a fleet arrives. I also have dedicated anti-piracy corvettes patrolling the edges of the sector, and frigates traveling the common trade routes.

You pretty much got the gist of it. It's a powerful Collector ship which we use for various purposes, like blowing people up.

Mostly for abducting entire space stations, though.

The MEH are still pissed at the Necrons for blowing the shit out of their remaining defenses and forcing the core systems to jump without the smaller systems or most of the fleet, so the similarities won't be appreciated. I'll write the prologue for The MEH this weekend.

Hopefully we can find a diplomatic solution.

In other news, I hope my neighbors send more than just one welcome party, some of the tech The MEH want, the Charmarrans are incapable of providing. On the other hand, they are invaders that the Argentis are still unhappy with, so perhaps I could ally with them instead?
