The guards nod quickly, then pull the mage up to her feet roughly shove her off into the doorway. You hear a heavy clang suddenly, and one of the guards yelps in pain. " Hold on to her! She almost grabbed my sword!"

Caoimhin shakes his head, "A strange bunch indeed." He looked over to the paladin. "Could they really be that..." he paused a moment, "...feckin' stupid?"

A few moments later, an officious looking guard stomps into the room, handing a piece of wrinkled paper to the paladin (Rogue 9). It reads

To my fellow paladin and servitor of good...
We have just recieved word that the city guard is locking down the city tight, and the wizard's guild is scouring every building and alley for the slaves and their rescuers. Many important, and rich, slavers are backing this effort, and no doubt they posses a large amount of resources to draw on. I suggest you get out of the city before they have it completely sealed off. I can't make any overt effort to move you out, but I can tell you of a way to get out by yourselves. Bring all of your companions to my office in one hour.
Sincerely,
Lord Khazar of the Church of Tyr.

The guard waits till you have finished reading it, then snatches it out of your hands and throws it in a small brazier, where it is quickly consumed by the flame.

Half mutters to himself, "Perhaps that fellow has to commit suicide for carrying the note too...there's a lot of crazy things in this city."
With a sigh he turns "Would there be a master of stores here I might have a word with? I could do with adding a few little things to my pack...and I'm sure he'd appreciate coin for 'em."

"Erm, check with Rubiguld; he's the master of stores. He should be in the armoury. Fat dwarf with one eye, that's him."

How possible is to get caught on the streets? I'd just like to get my horses and stuff, before whatever happens next... Or is there someone one could send to fetch it?

Since everyone was speaking in Draconic, Tormantineth continues to speak in it.

Why do you call him a 'fleshy'? asks the curious dragon Sure, he's not a *true* dragon... but why a fleshy?

SirNitram wrote:"Enough." Malkamar rumbled. "Debating over quicknames is a pointless waste of our time, which, I suspect, is limited. A mage's guild is a potent foe. Not, perhaps, on the scale of the City Of Shade or the Cult Of Dragon, but we're going to have our hands full. Call each other by some derivative of your fullname, if you cannot bring yourself to the full one. And where the hell is your friend with the groupies?"

Caoimhin sighed and shook his head. "That one has little sense of her situation...and little sense indeed for a mage. I'd be thinking though, that the threat of the mages guild's wrath is hardly an idle one. Even if they all be as illwitted as this one, there's likely a few more of them about....and a griffon might well have caused comment. Do you not think, we might be doing best to get ourselves someplace quiet..." he glanced at the others in the room, that had arrived since thier own entrance, "...where we'd be less likely to have all the locals of the realms wandering by for a look see."
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwww She Spit! Whether it was a sound of disgust, amusement, or what is totally up to the mind of a 6yr old. Tormantineth looked up to her new friends, Malk, Astin, and the Half-Dragon. Can I show her how to spit properly?

"No", he answered icily. "We're actually waiting for the annual Kobold circus fair to come visit us here... Sure we want to know!"
"Very well. It seems useless to hold up my guise any longer." She uncrosses her arms and sighs. "Listen, bub, if the mage guild gets me they'll execute me. I was trying to get YOU to kill me first, as I know certainly these wishy-washy clerics won't torture me for a thousand years and then lock my soul in a jar, then smash it. So, do kindly kill me now."
She holds her head forward, exposing her throat. "Do it now, before they get to me."
........... Okay!
well, she asked for it, and the little dragon leans in with her jaws wide open, heading for the woman's throat.

"No.. No, small one. No need to show the woman how to spit. We need to get somewhere less noticable. Big bad people are coming." Malkamar attempted to convince the baby to move. "Big trouble.."

"We will do no such thing. GUARDS!" Four guards came rushing up seconds later, throwing nervous glances at the pair of beasts in the courtyard. Bronze or not, paladin's mount or not, a dragon and a griffon will make anyone uneasy if unused to them. "Get someone with a key to the undercroft. Put here there under guard and make certain that no one gets in to her without the passcodes. Not even if they look just like myself or even Abbot Khazar, no one without the recognition signs. Is that understood?"
The little dragon gets the most pitiful disappointed look on her face. Awwwwwwwwwww.. but she *wants* to die......

"In due time." Malkamar smiled. "But first we have to make sure we get to choose when to fight. Can't let the mean old bad guys get the drop on us, right?"

Oh. Tormantineth thinks about that for several minutes. Tactics, strategy, these are not the ways of a baby dragon. Her dark green eyes look up to Malk. You'll let me know when it's time?

"Well, sweetie," Duncan smiled, "you will know when there's a fight. It mostly starts with bad guys shooting at one..."

Gaheris grinned. Best not to upset the dragon... "No. She's afraid, so afraid that she thinks that death is the only way out. We can help her with that. She's not so bad a person, I think, just scared." [IIRC, she didn't show up on detect evil.]

"I would have granted her death request... It is not often that one has that sort of opportunity to ease the mortal suffering of another being" Astinius said while whiping the spittle out of his eye

"Tis good however that she is to be locked up... I would not wish to waste spells on the likes of her. I suppose we should get going though. "We go to Abbot Khazar first. I came here to stop the Night Masks, and I do not wish to leave without seeing it done. I know these streets; I grew up in them. No one got a good look at us in the arena and survived other than our prisoner, and she's not going anywhere. I doubt that anyone even knows she's alive. Percival can fly out of town and we disappear into the populace. Unless you can name a witness who is actually in condition to go to the Council, no one knows who or where we are. We become just another addition to the abbey's forces and no one's the wiser."

"I'd say we'd be best leaving soon if we are, while we've still got the cover of the night, an' afore the night masks care to come out an' play. If the magic can be kept at bay, my blades will be able to handle most else."

((Just so people remember, the timeline right now is such that it's evening/night here, and Laz is in the middle of tommorow.))

"Well, if it is safe to stay here, I see no reason why we should rush out of the city. Otherwise a change of location might be in order." Turning to the Paladin, he said "ould it be arranged for our personal belongings and horses to be transported here tomorrow? If it is as you say, and these Night Masks are eveil, and stuff, I'd like to help you there. But I, and my friend here, would like to have our belongings in a safe spot, as well."

Gaheris addressed his griffon. "Percival, get into the stables and lay low. You mustn't be seen. You might have to make a break for it without me in the dead of the night, and until then you mustn't be seen." Percival understood his master's every word, and his talons clattered on the flagstones as he trotted off toward the stable building. "And the horses are not for eating!" Gaheris called after his retreating companion.

He then turned to Dahak. (What's your character's name again?) "I'll see about securing your belongings for you. Where were you staying?"
