Bah. Anything that isn't dual SMGs can beat a sword, as long as you stay out of their range. Of course, if you turn a corner and run into the bastard, you're screwed, but he's not being a swordwhore, you're just being unlucky.

The best way to use a sword is to find a relatively confined area, preferably near a weapons drop, then wait there in the corner until someone comes to grap their gun, leap out and SLASH SLASH STAB! Keep finding new places to hide so that people won't catch on.

Running around in plain view with a sword is just a good way to get shot.

Hence why on maps such as Coagulation or Headlong, sword=death.

At first, I thought that the shotgun was really weak in the game, but the I realized the it just spreads more, at short range, it's still very effective. Maybe we just got used to teh uber shotgun from the first game.

BTW, people always rush. If you have the shotgun, just wait for them to step a little closer, they alwways do.

I hate the little bitches who grab the sword and sniper rifle on Lockout and then hang out in the sniper rifle area, and wait to ambush you or pick you off every time. Not leaving their little nest even once.

If I ever do take the sword I feel guilty using it, and generally just pick it up to keep the other person from using it.

I am speaking of head to head games.

Oh, and yeah, I think the sword is pretty cheap in head-to-head.... I mean, what, they sit in a tight corner where you have to get in to their sword range just waiting for you? Lame.

Oh, but for those that have problems with someone getting 1 kill or something then hiding for the entirety of the game.. ascension apparently being the worst offender - they took the Banshee out of Ascension on HtH

Still, I don't want to hear any shit about "swordwh0res!!!111oneoneone." Cause seriously, there's plenty of ways to beat them. And yeah, running around with one in the open is just like waving a big glowing flag saying "I'M RIGHT HERE, SHOOT ME IN THE FACE." heh They're *great* for defending on CTF and Assault games though.

BTW, easy way to defeat a sword even at semi-close range: Plasma Pistol/Magnum combo. 1 fully charged shot + 1 magnum round to the head = death. Hell, there's plenty of times I've taken down a sword wielder with duel-SMGs as well, you just have to keep right out of their range, and usually they'll chase you.

I have a tried and true method for killing sword-whores, but I don't always have plasma gernades at my disposal.

There's a hundred ways. If you have enough space, dual anything while back pedaling will kill someone. I wasn't thinking and did that last night. When I first played on Live! I wouldn't grab it, but then I found that no one had any qualms being cheap with it. My tactic is usually a sword/shotgun if I have the ability. I can come around corridors with the sword or drop down on people, or charge in with trusty buckshot. Lately I've been doing a lot of team training (so as not to lose rank when my friends aren't online) and in Zanzibar 1 CTF, I'll grab a ghost and just mow people down. It's the cheapest way to piss people off, but god I love it. There's a lot of people who don't realize that they ain't capturing my flag.

Sword and Shot are my favorites for ninjanaught. That and shot and battle rifle.

If anyone charges with a sword at >10 ft, I just run backwards and fire. Either they run straight into the bullets or they strafe-walk forwards and get slowed down. It's really obvious, but you don't know how many times I've seen people stand still when bumrushed by a Sword user.

Ok, you have just entered the airlock leading outside of Cairo station. There are those two elites. Once you take them out, head to the connector that is right across from the entrance, there is a sloped peice of wall. Jump on that, walk up onto the roof of the station, then walk down towards Earth. there is a ledge, that is right next to the ship. Once you get there, then just jump across. But you cant jump or go across the connectors, there is a field that will bounce you back.

Damn man. I thought for a second you meant inside. I've always tried to get inside the ship, but to no avail.

BTW: For anyone here has trouble killing the Tartarus in the end; Pick up the beam rifle in a container right before you hop into the banshee ( or wraith) when you're escorting Johnson's scarab. You really need to have the carbine in your other weapon slot. When you proceed past the messed up entrance and into the 1st room, try to nail a brute with a plasma grenade. Double back to the doors, and start making headshots. When the confrontation with Tartarus begins, allow Johnson to punch through Tartarus' shields with his rifle first. Then plug him with as much firepower as you can dish out ( Brute rifles work the best). Then pull out your own beam rifle, dish out 3-4 shots into him to lower his sheilds, pull out your other gun, and do what you do. If you time this right, and if you're in a good line of sight of Johnson, you can wither him down in a short period of time. Especially when you do this with fellow elites nearby. This works on Legendary as well. Just watch out for reinforements.

holy hell, there was a cheater on Halo 2 on our team... and he was a total prick too.

Suddenly he and his friend started talking about doing their "little trick" - in which this guy, ALONE, walked into their base (this is on big team battle) while most of their team was in there.... and "walked" right out... I say walked cause he was fucking teleporting back and forth where no teleporters exist! (go to the red zone view)

Oh yeah, he started TKing me when I accidentally blew up his ghost (which he wasn't in.) Then for some reason thought I'd find it insulting when he said "pfft, only level 11, you're garbage, you faggot (he like to use this word in almost every sentence. I'm level 17... you suck."

then, he tried to use that to insult me with...

"it's funny when people say that, you fuckin faggot loser. I don't play that much, it only took me 2 days and 6 hours to get to rank 17."

After that, me and the rest of the team made sure we lost the game to get him to shut the fuck up.

I should also note that after looking at his stats he does indeed play fucking 12-14 hours DAILY of Halo 2 on Live... and it took him over a MONTH to get his rank while playing that lucriously much.

Well, he'll have to start all over again, once Bungie bans his LIVE account.
