Let's not split hairs here. You're talking about something that's equivalent to a planet-consuming neutron bomb and you mentioned it only by PM to a single member, apparently in passing. This is something that you have to bring up in front of the group for approval.

Stormbringer: "Hey guys, I want to have a planetkiller small enough that I can hide it in my embassies on your capitals. Is that fair?"
Everyone: "Umm, no."

Alright. Front and centre, people. If you have any weapons(NBC, pure energy, whatever) capable of scorching a planet in short order, post it here. It will make everyone's life far easier, especially mine. It will reduce claims of ass-pulling.

I assumed people if they didn't know enough about sort of tech I was using would ask. I'm not about to force Darksider to do anything.

Oh, and it wasn't in passing it was repeated threats to his nation.

I have Grand Cannons, which can toast up a planet nicely, but they're immobile and deployed around my main naval base. Besides that, all I have is BDZ and other large deployments of conventional weapons.

I would think every one's weapons at least would be capable of the job.

The heavy fusion cannons on my ships can do some pretty hefty damage (They're designed to nail enemy capships in one or two hits) so i suppose they might qualify, but they have agonizingly long charge up times, can't be charged while in FTL and are designed for ship to ship use.

We're using Star Wars tech at least, I'd consider an hour for a single modest ship short order.

Storm, with all due respect, declare this sort of thing next time. In a PM as a secret force if necessary. It'd be like me saying 'By the way. Since my ships use Culture drives and are far bigger than GCU's, I can perform a Base Delta Zero from a braking maneuver. Your homeworld is dead.' partway through a thread.

Let's not start with semantic games, it's obvious what he meant. I hope I don't need to get into the difference between an hour's bombardment of a heavily defended target and an instant kill which is nearly impossible to defend against.

Or should I start speculating on the possibilities of employing the Life Eater as a first strike weapon? Shit, you could wipe out almost everyone in the game just by covertly building warehouses on all their major planets and stuffing them with that stuff.

We have no plaet killers yet per se... We find the destruction of entire biospheres repugnant.

All that the TSC has is BDZ, and is unlikely to use it.

Remembeer, our society hinges on having wars to send our young people off to, so they can prove themselves and earn citizenship.

Oh, and Stormbringer, I don't care how radical your people are, EVERYONE folds eventually, assuming they are human. Faith takes you a long way, but only SO far.

but, in my post... all it would take is one individual to press the button and destroy the planets biosphere.

Mass suicide is a bit more reasonable.

We may be able to reach those in the colonies, but not their capital world.

How far north does the TSC new territory extend? I'd like to know how close it gets to the FSA as I have a fleet in the area performing wargames.

Just so people know, the FSA is a thin crescent running down the UTRs southern border from the Corporate Sector to the Klingon empire, in the south it reaches about half the distance to the Gorn Federation.

The IWF is a rough circle around the bajoran wormhole exit about half the size of the Stuart Corp on the map.

the province of Shiva March is between the Commonwealth and Fenari space, it's not that big. It approaches the edge of the Cygnus arm.

Oh, and Kyle, the Xenomorphs were released on one of the planets in the Valeth system, not the homeworld- it was industrialised, but it's population was probably more on the order of 3-4 billion. 100 billion is nowhere near the number of casaulties inflicted. In fact, as atrocities go, it doesn't even APPROACH the Patriarchy+Black Alliance smash-and-grabs which occured recently.

On the contrary, there are a number of instances were people were willing to fight even if they faced total destruction to do so. Look at Masada or how close Japan came to do the same, they would be entirely willing to fight to the death.

I didn't just mean direct death from the Xeno's I was also including those related deaths that had to do with the war as a whole.

I just like to run overbearing self rightous TGOD powers, it's more fun when you look down your nose at everyone, it makes wars easier to start, and thats the point of STGOD. I just like to take the moral high ground, it makes the manuvering more complicated.

Keep in mind the vast superiority in numbers of the Commonwealth fleet over their enemies, and the fact that the Azegart had few escorts and no interceptors to defend their capital ships against Commonwealth missile and fighter strikes.

Ummm, no, they have a lot of point dense and destroyers are escorts!

You're thinking about the Kzin the wrong way. It's not the Rape of Nanking, it's more like Charlemagne moving into Saxony. Claim the territory, kill whoever resists, enserf the populace, and incorporate it into your state. Forced resettlement is only happening for the people who don't give up after the first couple of warnings. Most of the sparse population of the Norma Arm are just nationless squatters. The Kzin are doing a bad thing, but it's not that bad. You killed a lot more people in a lot more painful fashion.

[I can't speak for the Black Alliance, of course. Piratical bastards.]

The Black Alliance are assholes. Evil. Bad guys. What, are you shocked and dissappointed?

On the other hand, they generally took prisoners in their expansion, and killed a minimum. Those they took were forced into slavery, yes, but a slave in the Alliance has many options and opportunities a free man in the untamed void doesn't. Like buying his freedom, or commanding a starship.

So. Yes, the Alliance commited and atrocity. Their official press statement on the matter includes the phrase 'Blow me'. What? They're the bad guys.

Bah, smash and grabs are so ... inelegant. Forced economic dependancy with eventual political amalgamation (of their own free will, of course ;)) is a much more elegant method of aquiring new lands that are already occupied.

Of course, the Terrans create puppet nations all around them, which is also pretty smooth.

Elegance is a rapier and dinner jacket. My approach is gothic plate and a greataxe. :)

You also have a legitimate claim to the territory, because it was formerly your territory. Whereas I'm operating in the "I saw it first!" realm of expansion. O Pioneers!

The Terrans are apparently in a much more populated sector of space, where it is actually feasible to create satillite states. Almost nobody lives on the Norma Arm. Not much to subjugate...
