I must say, all the tears of joy and gushing over this is very offputting. He's a cool politician, I'm sure, but crying? Jesus.

Also, fucking LOL @ the pavlovian reactions at the McCain concession speech. Look at all those gutted white people. Hahah.

* packs away mind probe that used to cause McCain to select Sarah Palin as his running mate.*
All Hail President Obama (the choice of the world). :D

McCain has shown himself to be a decent human at the end in concession. I find that so refreshing. I can almost forgive him for the bullshit he has thrown.

Barack Obama, the 45th President of United States of America.
Um, won't he be the 44th president?

I was watching the Daily Show/Colbert Report coverage, and it was unfunny. Colbert was just being goofy, and not in a good way.

Here's McCain on stage now. With Yukon Barbie to his Right and already plotting for 2012 even while wearing that forced beauty-pagent smile on her face.

A little while ago, I had the honour of calling Sen. Barack Obama to congratulate him on winning the presidency.

He's being gracious. A few voices in the crowd aren't liking it.

He's found a measure of redemption. Calling for cooperation was a wise thing to do.

McCain's coneding in a graceful manner. For some reason I can't envision Bush willing to give a speech like this.

What is that weird tingling feeling that makes me want to smile?

PRIDE!!!!

That's what it is, I feel proud again. Heh, I thought that feeling was gone forever. Certainly better a feeling than embarrassment in 2000, dread in 2003, disgust in 2004. It's 2008 now and I can't be happier.

They're chanting "We want John". If he were giving an angry speech, they would be killing blacks.

I wonder what those solitary people yelling at scattered moments are? They sound angry too.

The random calling out that I can't understand very well has my sister frightened.

Me too, a bit.

McCain's speach is rather classy so far.

Where has this John McCain been? If he appeared earlier during the general election, he could be giving Obama a run for his money.

Honestly this is just the right note to end the campaign. I hate to think in callous terms but this might be step one in Mccain Senate '10 campaign, trying to reclaim the middle ground.

Right now I bet McCain would love to have a few minutes alone with Bush and Cheney and have them be personally acquainted with a sledgehammer.

Are you listening to the same speech? Sure he's grateful, but he's being booed by his own people seven times by my count and the crowd is shouting... less that polite things about Obama. I know I heard at least one N word.

*Edit Eight times.

The Crowd still yelling nasty things during McCain's speech.

Whenever Obama is mentioned as the President, they keep trying to deny it and shout stuff.

Shit, this is pretty scary. Someone just shouted "John's our President!" in the audience.

"Serve Alaska". Maybe I'm being optimistic, but it doesn't look like he's all that happy o have her standing there. Palin looks like she doesn't quite grasp what's going on...
