A little while ago, I had the honour of calling Sen. Barack Obama to congratulate him on winning the presidency.

He's being gracious. A few voices in the crowd aren't liking it.

He's found a measure of redemption. Calling for cooperation was a wise thing to do.

That's what it is, I feel proud again. Heh, I thought that feeling was gone forever. Certainly better a feeling than embarrassment in 2000, dread in 2003, disgust in 2004. It's 2008 now and I can't be happier.

Where has this John McCain been? If he appeared earlier during the general election, he could be giving Obama a run for his money.

Honestly this is just the right note to end the campaign. I hate to think in callous terms but this might be step one in Mccain Senate '10 campaign, trying to reclaim the middle ground.

Are you listening to the same speech? Sure he's grateful, but he's being booed by his own people seven times by my count and the crowd is shouting... less that polite things about Obama. I know I heard at least one N word.
