Nah, he wasn't unconscious, he was just restin' on the pitch after his hard run down the field! No, wait, he was STUNNED. Stunned at the cheek of the Chileans to commit so many fouls!

Wow, Ghana are really taking it to the Americans here. I honestly didn't know who was supposed to be the favourite here. Maybe USA will manage to turn it around, though. They were down 2-0 against the Slovenians, remember.

I'll never forgive Boateng for that foul against Ballack (what a jackass), but he is a good player.

The USA seem to be playing a heavy game, two yellow cards for them already.

I don't know what any of that means... but fuck... does the US HAVE to make it hard on themselves every time?

Team USA has two strategies, so far, for ball possession. Those strategies are 'luck' and 'chance'.

They also seem to forget that there's another team out there, you know, on the pitch, trying to stop them. :? They act surprised when 'some dude in a red shirt' seems to show up and steal the ball, leaving them poleaxed...

Ghana dominate the match at the moment. Hopefully, US can win this match with one lucky goal.

  • A Bitter is anyone who plays for or supports Everton FC (Tim Howard and Donovan on loan).
  • A [Chelsea] rent boy is a derogatory term for a gay prostitute, which all Chelsea FC players of course are (Essien, out injured).
  • And a Skate is a derogatory term for anyone who plays for or supports Portsmouth FC (Boateng) coined from a type of fish that myth would have can be used as a substitute to a woman if you're out to sea ...
Anyway, here's my question; does US TV do live interviews with Tim Howard after the a game? I'd love to see that!

Goddamn, how can we keep doing this?

Even at 1-1, and I don't know how we developed this ability to just not give up after the early goal given up.

Ugh Thanas, do we have to bring it up after this. I hardly think your gloating afterwards if you will is needed nor is bringing up this bullshit issue. We know our press is a fucktward, what of it?

Also good work, US.

Well, if you're comparing The Sun and The Mirror with Bild and Der Spiegel of course the British papers aren't going to look too good. But it's hardly a fair comparison to begin with. Two are sensationalist gutter rags, and the other two are world-class newspapers...

US is pressing hard. It's a dangerous way to play the game. But hey, play like you got a pair.

I've already turned down invites to go out to watch that game in a pub, I just couldn't cope with the rampant English (chavish) jingoism that will be present. But seriously, you guys could do yourselves some favours and put a muzzle on Beckenbauer; he comes out with his spoon every second day and gives the whole thing a little stir. I swear the BBC have him on tap or something!

A fairer comparison would be The Independent and the Guardian. Both papers are not almost literal toilet paper at least.

Bild is a gutter rag as well, so the point still stands.

The only reason the BBC gets Beckenbauer is because we pay him no attention either. Seriously, outside his own club (munich) you'll not find many who even like him.

Well, I guess the US team having no real strategy, and relying on chaos and randomness, does make it harder for the opposing team to plan for anything, um, right? Yeah, that's it.

GET THE FUCK IN!

That was awesome! USA's captain thought Gyan was gonna dive after he rammed into him and stepped off half a yard.

Ghana needs to cover their goal better when corners are made.

After Dempsey's action the USA better not complain about diving anymore.

If your point is "British rags write sensationalist nonsense" then sure, the point still stands. But then you might as well make some more earth-shattering statements like "the sky is blue" or "water is wet". They'd be about as surprising. And isn't it common knowledge that many British (and many Americans too, I suppose) can't go five minutes without comparing one thing or another to WW2? Especially when it involves Germans...
