Give me a few days.Prove it.
Diplomacy is the name of this game. The galaxy frowns upon the evil and is so ready for war it will happily gang up on the aggressor.SirNitram wrote:Barbarian Horde time!Thirdfain wrote:You would be SHOCKED at how ridiculously easy the Peace Bandwagon is to stop.
Oh, holy crap. Y'know, I might not sell those defensive platforms after all...Thirdfain wrote:Give me a few days.Prove it.

Oh, really? Well, we'll see. We will, indeed, see.Diplomacy is the name of this game. The galaxy frowns upon the evil and is so ready for war it will happily gang up on the aggressor
It's a training exercise, so the shield wasn't full strength. The shield penaids are made to penetrate THEATER shields at most. And yes, they are much more effective against gravitic shielding than vanilla shields.Alyrium Denryle wrote:Um... Shield Penaids? Um NO! That defeats the purpose of a planetary shield completely. Unless they are specific to your types of shielding... ACK

Strombringer can you get that monster of a post out of here, put it in your OOB. It hurts my eyes!
Actually, that STGOD lasted closer to an in game year. The run up between the Black Alice incident was actually a lot closer to six to nine months. There was a fair amount that happened, most insiginficant over all but time consuming.Thirdfain wrote:STGOD1, maybe 3-4 months of ingame time. <SNIP>STGOD1 was the Slave Wars, some political dealing, the Black Alice incident and then a few months of tensions leading to the Genocide Wars.
Ahh, much better, now I don't have to spend two hours scrolling down!Stormbringer wrote:InnocentBystander wrote:Edit:

Happy now?
Yup, beware that missle swarms don't work so well. It's basically been decided that huge numbers of cheap missle suffer from a corresponding lack of quality.HemlockGrey wrote:Any comments about my OOB?
Our nation stresses accuracy of beam weapons and defense of the ship so that the shields and hull dont take damage. The missile swarm is ued to take out other fighter screens, and a 15 mt warhead doesnt need to be especially accurate.HemlockGrey wrote:Well, it's good I changed it then, since one of my society's basic tenets is excellence in electronic guidance and targetting...
Yeah, it's reasonable though it won't necessarily consitute an overwhelming advantage. I would imagine a first strike would be dangerous as hell and a missle duel unpleasant.HemlockGrey wrote:Well, I thought that generally superior electronics equipment (like insanely accurate targeting and powerful jamming) was a decent tradeoff for lighter than average armor and shields and smaller than average ships.
