Bad Straha, dress you links. :P
You located 'me' nowhere near where i intended (not the Caucusus). My power contains at least some mountains, you know. Unless that's someone else...

Backtrack: I'm not close to Volgograd. I'm south, around Georgia and Chechnya, Dagestan and Azerbaijan. My current map has me go north to Crimea, which is the northern edge. See here:

If my map in the OOB (which is admittedly big for a regional power) is too big, Cut crimea and the northern areas. I'm holding the Caucusus, not the Volga river valley.

Admittably, I'm using this for purposes other than just crushing a horde of unwashed, smelly, gritty barbarians who refuse the basics of a bath. It's an excuse to build up a network of airbases allowing me to operate throughout the Continent, and build up a network of allies who, in turn, increase trade of raw materials to me, which means more Dreadnoughts...

There's also the fact this Horde could potentially bring about a Dark Age, which would suck giant donkey balls, so we want to nip it in the bud.

You should make me an offer. Castile and the Atlas mountains are the biggest producers of iron, gold, and copper in classical Europe.

meh.

You think I put all my eggs in one basket? I will make several offers if this one goes down.

Remember, this is Tear/Illian talking, not the Foresaken. The missive from Tear wasn't even written by Be'lal (High Lord Samon), but rather another of the High Lords.

I didn't say a word about the Forsaken, did I? I'm just saying, he's going to just yell "JIIIIHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAADDD!" and come for you.

OH, my missive to Straha? Actually, thats a really fucking good deal if he takes it. I owe him military support, and he just owes me not to die by his hand. Hell, if I were him, I'd take the free help any day of the week.

Right, Straha? Right?

You know, the Jihad has been going on for twenty five YEARS! Now, as I said, I'm willing to say that all this interest in me is because I just conquered a relativley big (say regional, maybe medium) nation that was in my way, but most of you shouldn't even give a shit about me. The only nations that should be rightly threatened are Frigid's, Marcao's, Cyprus, Aly's and Pablo. The only other thing we've done to the rest of you is cut off all trade coming from us, except from one port (I'll be detailing this once I get the map up.) The rest of you, with the exception of Nitram, can't even reach me without months travel time. That's to say nothing of me even reaching you!

GRRR. I wanted to ally with you, not have you annex us for free! Shit, I want to do this, but I just don't think I can. Brend (Sammael) just wouldn't allow it. He won't have another power over him in Illian. So...

Hold on, looking at the map. Looking at the map. Looking... stilll looking... done!

Now, could someone please tell me, how in the hell is this defensive alliance against me going to work with this latest nation being so far away that it'll take, probably, about a month for his reinforcements to arrive? This is just me, mind you, here but I see no possible way that Frigid can help, without major support. So far, the only nations that I see possibly being able to help against me right away are Nitram if he gets his base, Cyprus, Marcao, and Pablo. Anyone else isn't going to be able to help anyone against me, and if anything benefits from me attacking their neighbors.

And Rogue being able to send men against me? That's just preposterous!

All you have to do is convert, then we'll treat you like a brother state. Otherwise most deals are off...

EDIT: By the way, Hotfoot, could me and Pablo split that blank space in Africa that Sea Skimmer's departure left, or if Pablo doesn't want it can I just get it to start with?

The Dreadnoughts I'm sending can carry six regiments, not counting any Mules I decide I can move away from sitting in their bases at home. I intend to bring allied troops together on Cyprus to hold it. But again, you're just convenient. While we do have interest in putting you down like the mad animal you are, you are also a damn good method for me to justify moving to a war footing, securing a network of airbases, and taking in masses of raw materials. The political game is always deeper than one layer.

If it makes you feel any better soon you wont be around as a nation to hear him telling you he told you so.

Of course I don't think that'll make you feel much better, but still at least some consolation in the crushing to come.

And so you lay to waste the schemes of one of the thirteen. It is not by the sword that the Jihad will end, but the knife in the dark.

I am supremely unconcerned about the Jihad. It's entirely too far away to be of any effect to those states in the Baltic. I have other reasons for trying to start an alliance of states up there.
