Tasoth, 800mt and 1.6gt weapons yeilds are more than a bit over the limit here.

What was I telling the Gou'ald ambassador about not selling my weapons to pirates and terrorists?

(Yeah, yeah, I know. They'd get 'em from somewhere eventually.)

I figure that as a large, economically powerful nation with pretty good personal freedoms, there'd be some Nashtar-make weapons floating about. Hell, these pirates have been in the business for centuries, and they are descendd from United Navy officers of the United Floater Republics in the golden days. They even have an old-model Krytosian fusion cannon

Well, it's not out of the tech level if we can have 0.5m iron slugs propelled at 0.2C (225 MT) or 0.8m slugs at the same velocity (922 MT).

Fixed. The 800mt was the yield. Yeah, reset to 75 and 150.

Bleh. You know, I've been saying .2c all this time, but my OOB lists it as .1c. >_<

Um, let's ignore the specifics of all that shit and just say "firepower is porporation to weapon size and recharge time, you won't drastically outgun anyone, and it takes hours to cut through planetary shields, and days to bombard planets into dust."

Bah, I was just throwing out some really vague/randomized figures anyway.

WTF is up with everyone using "Peace of the Void be with you?"
This would be like me walking up to everyone and saying "Sup in the hizzle, my homie?"

Then the monkeys should have run ther calcs. The arcane empire had .3 meter iron slugs. which is around 150 megatons.

The Overseer didn't kill everyone on the planet, and he had a couple of hours to work with- and much of the damage was caused by his own vessels BLOWING UP AND DIEING, hurling radioactive and poisonous waste everywhere. VERY different from standing off and using guns and missiles to slowly depopulate the place.

Because, unlike "Sup in the hizzle, my homie?" it actually sounds refined, articulate, and meaningful. Also unlike "Sup in the hizzle, my homie?" an entire nation (well two now) used it constantly, thus giving it far more clout and lasting power than "Sup in the hizzle, my homie?" However I would say that it's one of those terms restricted to those who live/work in space, and that if you tried to use it planet side it would be far less well recieved than "Sup in the hizzle, my homie?"
Just my two cents, mind you, my homies.

How do you figure. The old floater religion may have caught on. Or it could just be that refering to the universe is more acceptable than refering to a god.

Hmm. Nice to see that at least some vestiges of the freedom-loving, peaceful Void Mother religion remain. Cool beans, maybe when this is over, the Floaters will be the real winners? If enough people set aside their differences and accept the Peace of the Void, the Floaters would be in pretty good shape.

Am I the only one who'se a little shocked about how quickly newly-starting nations immediatly sign on to the local alliance, rather than perhaps playing the game a bit and getting a feel for the place?

Beowulf, if you're going to try and breach my security, you'd be better off actually TRYING to do so, rather than just saying OMGWTF my man disappeared without a trace!
And what makes you think I don't have the bathrooms wired? Seriously man, come on now.
Also, if you're using ansible tech on that frieghter, I'm going to find out. I gave you an option there. If you're using standard comms, I'm tracking the transmission. If you're using ansibles, however, the list of suspects is going to be vastly reduced. It's somewhat similar to having a Naquida bomb...

Ah, Ansibles. The most overused technology in the STGOD.
'nyah nyah instant comms with no means of tracking or intercepting!'

I'm more concerned with his magical disappearance with no justification whatsoever. I can deal with ansibles easily enough, have no worries.
However, unless Beowulf can come up with a damn good justification for escaping from my ship without detection, I'm going to consider his post total BS and have a SENTINEL team take his man in for suspicious activity (and attempting to beam out from a bathroom would most definately count).

Do it anyway.
Certainly you would be able to detect the energy spike, and he wouldnt get through the ships shields with a transporter.

It'd be so easy to invoke the rules of the original STGOD here, and simply make my own post explaining what happens to Beowulf's little punk.
