Yes, I have ansible technology, and have had it for over a century in game. As for what Beowulf is talking about, I don't object to the idea of a randow few of my citizens being snapped up. As has been said, it's no different than the riots and rebellion that any number of people have been plotting and planning. Any official representatives of the Asgard at the fair would be consulted as well, and an official notification of the situation was sent to the Asgard government. However, protesting one’s nationality was of little use in a situation such as this. Any sane nation would let criminals rot, unless they had a very good reason for wanting extradition.
