They are fighting the US and coalition.

There is an old saying: "The Enemy of My Enemy is My Friend."

And as well, the Mujahadeen are fighting with the Iraqi's in Northern Iraq.

All I know is that an ROTC cadet was approached recently and called a 'baby-killer'. Just goes to show the complete and total ignorance of the facts by the peacenik (peacenik, not people who respectfully disagree with the war and at least attempt to learn about the facts) college/high school aged crowd.

Wonder if she realizes that ROTC cadets are in no way part of the US military's active force...

(I probably would have chewed the b*tch out if it had been me in the cadet's uniform...)
