Old trick from a friend of mine. He would raise the tension level to unbearable levels, then pull this gag where he'd go "And suddenly... nothing happens."

Or something similar. One time he had a character of mine getting onto an elevator in somewhat tense circumstances.

So he pulls this one... "Suddenly... the elevator doors slowly slide closed." But he had us so worked up that everyone is thinking that this is somehow a trap, and the other characters present are racing to get into the elevator... classic stuff.

Oh Jesus, I know what Typhonis meant for the post, but I couldn't help but imagine Nathan lifting it into the air after it's dead and everyone going nuts shooting up the metal carcass.

S'okay, we'll just wave the magic wand of pretend and assume that Nathan lifted it before the kill shot.

Typhonis, the 'delete' or 'edit' button is your friend.

Okay, as for the aftermath... it came barrelling through at high speed, kicking and punching all the way... so whoever you want from your retinues killed, maimed, or simply wounded in gory fashion, feel free to begin tending to them.

1 Stormtrooper killed because Necronlord felt like it.
1 Stormtrooper killed with the gravity gun thing.
1 Stormtrooper killed for luck.
2 Kroot killed during misc. Off-screen fighting.
Pater Novum: Left side of his skull smashed in a gory yet-survivable-with-heavy-prosthesis fashion.
Davik Kruger: Needs a lie down.

Lessee... Guard squad totally wiped out, except for a couple of lucky bastards who were near the main group, plus Prius, Michaelson, and the anonymous medicae.

You bastards were too clever. I was going to do some lengthy dialogue on its programming, inasmuch as it's programmed to utilize confusion when outnumbered by diving in amongst its foes and creating increased risks for fratricide. But noooooo... Cait's gotta blow the knee out.

Anyway, it's been a pleasure. Being as how most of my people are incapacitated, I feel safe in bowing out for the evening.

btw, for those of you who don't know what an Executioner is, it's a Leman Russ with a big plasma cannon in the turret. Given the various other toys these guys are playing with, I thought it appropriate for them to have at least one.
