Murazor, that destroyer wants to move. Like, now. Check back in the thread a bit and tell me. What's due to arrive in the Praetor corridor about now, hmm?

It's already moving. They are going to drop out of warp after reaching a safe position.

They didn't have to go far. Actually, best sublight speed probably would have done it, but whatever. They're clear now. Thought I told you to go to Pinnacle.

Oh well. That's the last battle group that I plan to have barreling into the system for a while.

You told me to ask clearance in Pinacle
or Praetor.

Would it be remotely possible that Beowulf might show his self in the game thread and have his fleet crushed?
It really gets annoying...

NO! You're wrong! We've had ONE paranoid hyperactive over-hyped computer processor take their beating gracefully.
Well... one... out of.... 5.... Still IT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE!

YOu dont have to assume where they are, just that you used active cans to find them.

A result from being kept away from my home terminal, I'm being forced to travel. ATM I'm at a public library, but that access will be very sporadic at best.

At the base library ATM. Won't have consistant Internet access until I get back to work after FTAC (6 Jul) or until the cable company comes by my dorm room.
Oh, and Hotfoot? The map is slightly wrong. I had wanted my home systems to be left of Known Space. What exactly is the coordinate system for this map anyway?

So you want 180 degrees?
By the by, Beowulf, is this the first time your imposter ships have entered known space? Or have they been around sometime in the last decade?

Not sure if that's within tech limits bud, thats a great distance. Besides, he's in statis, no change, including his "power". Note, that this action, if within the realm of our techlimit might very well be detectable, even traceable!

It is most definently not within your power to do Beowulf. He could kill himself, but altering him at that distance, even my mages could not do, and they were pushing the envelope with that sort of thing.

Actually, he could not. As mentioned, he is in stasis. Furthermore, it wouldn't matter, as he would just respawn, even if he vaporized himself, he would still reform, this resurrection would most certainly be detectable and the agent would find himself in the same situation he was in last time, only stripped of his guise and this suicide pill.

Beowulf wrote:Oh, and Hotfoot? The map is slightly wrong. I had wanted my home systems to be left of Known Space.
Not possible without you being between arms, so I compromised, as per my last post to you on the matter. You're "north by northwest" of known space, 6,000 ly out.
What exactly is the coordinate system for this map anyway?
The diameter of the circle is 2,000 ly, give or take.
"South" is coreward and "North" is Rimward, so your fleet is heading north, towards Asgard and Ousters and all them folks.
Concerning your post, the first part, are you writing what my fleet would be saying or something? It makes very little sense otherwise.
The second part, well, hey, I'm interested, how did you manage to sneak in a second group of operatives? Moreover, how did they communicate back to base without my knowing it?
And what's with this sudden new power you have to wipe your agents minds from intersteller distances and remove their power as if they never had it? Not even Marcao's Primes can pull shit like that, and you have nothing of the sort listed in your OOB. I'm having a flashback to another such similar situation...
Also, the others are right, I slapped the agent back into stasis when I was done with him. Translation: No soup for you!
Ah well, at least you did one smart thing and recalled your fleet. Pity, that.
Time to get to part two of the arrests it would seem, and this time get just as much information as I would have if I had beaten your fleet, since you were just communicating to home base. I may even leave you a message.
But yes, to review, here's what you did right:
1. Running Away.
Here's what you did wrong:
1. Magically summoning a new ship full of spies (in itself, not so bad) sending status reports TO YOUR HOMEWORLD (quite bad, for two reasons- one, I can see you are sending something somewhere, two, this means that, by default, these guys are higher ranking and know more than the ones I already have). This alone pretty much your positive gain by running away.
2. Trying to pull new magical tech-limit shattering abilities so you can try to laugh and say "haha you don't get anything!" You've done this before, only last time your bullshit was more credible. This simply will not do. If you were to try and mount some sort of rescue operation with your second team of spies, that might actually be reasonable (if damn near impossible in the current situation), but magically yoinking them out of existance from thousands of lightyears away? Nuh-uh, not gonna happen.

Dear Beowulf,
You should note that the current path of your fleet takes them right past the Veithan sphere of influence.
As you may recall, Marcao gave me control of his fleets for this week.
Your escape route is about to be cut off.
Loves and huggles,
Hotfoot
P.S. I was going to let your fleet go if you just ran off, and that would have been the end of it. You could have sown discord in Known Space, creating tension between myself, the KSE, and the Asgard, maybe even the Ousters, but now, well, you've just sealed your fate. I'll know all I need to know to castrate your ability to affect me in Known Space, and there's not going to be a damn thing you can do to stop me. Hell, you just handed yourself to me on a silver platter. At the rate you're going, you'll be writing me the deed to your homesystems by the end of the week.

Hello everyone!
I am back from my relaxing and utterly enjoyable trip to Washington D.C. I will be taking control of the Veithan Empire from the capable hands of Hotfoot and try and catch up with the posts.

Rightio boys and gels, going away for a couple weeks, however I WILL have intermittent internet.
This means, however, that if something urgent comes up and I am not able to handle it Stormbringer is in command of Monacora.
If Stormbringer is away, Hotfoot has the helm.
If Hotfoot is unable to complete those duties Marcao has the head.
If Marcao is crushed by a step ladder and is unable to continue his good work for me, Tycho is in charge.
And if Tycho suddenly springs into an alternate universe OR changes bodies with his wife Hemlock is the commander of my nation.
If all this fails, a Wizard put Monacora in a time stasis untill I'm able to deal with it again.
Good luck people, and good playing.
