I prefer PS3s to Wiis or 360s. Mostly because of the features and the new Godzilla game in development and the possiblity of a Battlefront 3.

Erm, why would a Battlefront 3 be PS3-exclusive?

Duh.

I never said that it would. But I have played with the Wii and 360 and got a glimps of the PS3 gameplay and I believe it would be better on the PS3 though that is my persona; preferance.

The Wii-mote may be patented, but Sony have already been working in the last few months on various motion-sensing controllers, and have made a few of their own patents on them too.

Addon controllers have such a great track record. :) Honestly though, if the Wii makes controllers like that more accepted and used by higher-end systems, I won't be complaining. The PS3 sure needs a draw beyond some idiot saying he prefers bad shooters on console.

Okay how the heck would the game be any better on the PS3 than the 360? They have the same graphical capabilities, and similar controllers...

Oh Praxis forget about it. He just admitted he's played a Wii and 360, and SEEN A GLIMPSE of PS3 gameplay. He thinks it'd be better on PS3 because it's his 'personal preference'. He's an ill-informed fanboy.

And you forgot: 360 controllers aren't Flash Gordon silver. ;)

Speaking of the PS3, Uts and I stopped at Best Buy today and walked past a demo station running that one off-road ATV racer (do they ever demo anything else?).

Actually, it wasn't really running it, since it had froze during gameplay.

It made me feel both good and bad on the inside... :)

Amazing, Spanky. The same shit happened to my local Best Buy's PS3 unit. People were playing the 360 and Wii demo units....and stood around pointing and snickering at the PS3 unit, I shit you not.

... that is the first time I have ever heard of any video game console freeze that didn't involve Chromehounds (Xbox 360) or True Crime: New York City (PS2).

Are you kidding me? This has happened to almost every major console release since PS2!

The 360 demo units also had problems like this. They were closed in a small box, and the consoles can overheat. Still, it's really not encouraging that this is happening in various stores and various areas.

When the XBox 360 came out they were freezing left and right. I kept having King Kong crash on me. At the time, I snickered and made jokes about Microsoft software. But apparently Sony's just as bad.

It's probably just the enclosed box in the case of the XBox 360.

The PS3 doesn't have that excuse. The PS3 you see on display is a fake; the ports on the back aren't real ports (they're printed stickers) and it's not plugged in, the real PS3 is underneath the sand and better ventilated (you can see it through the air holes).

Yeah, that happened to the local Best Buy demo here, too. Ironically it happened during the Wii launch day. Sadly, the one they replaced the older PS3 with also had problems freezing. Don't know if they've replaced it again or not.

Final Fantasy Tactics is going to the DS, too, as well as the PSP. It seems that the publishers (EA and Square Enix) are jumping ship.

In fact, the majority of the early crossplatform games have been worse on the PS3. Gamespot ran a comparison article not long ago, with the exception of NFS Carbon and Tiger Woods, games lose lighting effects, wash out colours (default gamma seems to be too high across the board), and have poor texture detail and HDR implementation on the PS3.

And it looks set to continue for a good while to come, since crossplatform games will almost certainly be designed around the 360, because it's theoretically the lower limit for performance (as PS2/Xbox crossplatform games were), and it has far better software development tools and environment.
