Does anyone know a way to download the footage posted earlier by 3rd impact?

1) spawning badguys behind you is stupid and lame.

2) having completely separate 'brain hitpoints' is awesome.

The psycho mantis guy usually uses other psyker powers apparently, but they spawned him in a place with no options. I just can't wait to see armies of zombies guided by a psyker. :)

PS for people who are a bit further north, how long till you get a decent shotgun? Mutants really call for a shotgun (with their primarily melee attacks and huge hitpoints) but the sawnoff sucks balls.

Shroom, I bought it right before I bought a 360 with Gears of War. I played GoW for about ten minutes before work, and haven't turned it back on yet. For once the reviews seem pretty on the dot - it lacks polish, but it's a cool idea and it's fun to play. Also: mutants and zombies and radiation. :)

EDIT - Resinense, that wasn't 'the sewers'. It was an underground part of the Agroprom research institute. Where did you get 'sewers'? All the lights and beds and generators and stuff? :)

Go west past the bar, you'll also get scopes, improved versions of the two main lines of rifles, bigger pistol, etc.

Goddamnit, I just finished the game with an absolutely retarded ending.

Here is an html walkthrough that explains how to receive the true endings.

What? If you mean 'there are shotguns in the Wild Lands' just say that. Are you referring to a stash near the bar? I've been using a scoped AK74 and a SIG for ages. I specifically want a proper shotgun, and I haven't seen one up to the Red Forest. I'm asking because I've found all kinds of rifles and pistols, but no shotguns other than the sawn-off.

Also the Desert Eagle sucks ass, even the super version. And that idiot's 'family rifle' must not look different, because I've combed the whole area. :)

And yeah, I've heard the ending is stupid. I'm trying to enjoy the journey. ;)

The "rifle" is actually a sawn-off shotgun. It's inside a large container in an underground area.

Oh, is it named or marked? I've been down there of course, but I wouldn't even have moused over a sawnoff because it sucks so bad. I remember the guy showing a picture of his gun when I took the mission, but I couldn't make the PDA show it to me again. :S

I don't believe it's named, nor do I recall even seeing a picture of it. When you pick it up, you should get a quest update.

When I found the guy's rifle, it was similar to the one I was carrying, but it had a grenade launcher and silencer on it. When you get to the spot shown on your PDA, pick up any gun in the vicinity to make sure you snag it. It'll say which one is which in the item descriptions.

I haven't seen any good shotguns yet, but I find that plugging zombies from afar is better anyway.

You got different weapons? Wierd. I never got an update and I grabbed a lot of cool guns in the Wilds. Did you both find it in the same place (ie down in the tunnel with shockers)?

Speaking of which, has anyone found a site to show which traders sell what?
Stark: Yeah, I was too busy dodging the storm of bullets from the 12 guys (literally) all trying to blow me away while avoiding the slimes to notice.

Oh sorry, I misread. It was actually that loser drunk Duty guys gun.

12? Pffft, 12 is nothing. 12 is easy - I did twelve with a Fort prototype and a sawn off in the junkyard. Try 18+ army guys plus helicopter, that's fun. Although not as hard as it should be: 500 rounds, 80 bandages make the fights way to easy to survive.

Also, the accessories thing seems unnecessarily restrictive: stuff isn't very cross-mountable. Sure, I could switch to a better Russian rifle... and lose my scope and launcher. Bah! Anyone found a removable silencer?

Meh, just use the TRS303 with a 4x NATO scope till you get the GP37 Later on, which has a built in scope and the lowest recoil of any other rifle IIRC. I'm not that far yet though.

The accessory thing is way too restrictive though, I can put a nato scope on my trs, but not on my SGI, simply because the rail mount is different. So it's not even just Russian and NATO. :x

Actually, the scope can be removed from many rifles.

Also, I once killed over 50 Freedom fuckers in a single raid on their main base. Headshots with the GP37 at long distance make this fairly easy.

I'm not a fan of any of the early NATO guns. Not enough ammo (compared to the thousands of rounds of 5.45mm anyway) and no GL. Who cares about recoil when autofire is for sissies? :) I sometimes move the GL to my silenced carbine, but I don't like having to carry too many ammo types. Enough anomalies and less than 50 weight and you can run forever. It's just irritating I can't move the scope and GL to the Obokan, which is *slightly* better but still runs on 5.45mm.

I'd also like to be able to use smaller non-pistol weapons as a backup - I think a sawnoff would work really well as a backup and it 'fits' in the backup slot.

The Viper 5 SMG is the same size as the sawn-off, and ammo is relatively plentiful initially. It also happens to be effective outside of a one-meter range.

I just want to know why I can't ever actually join a faction.

I'd love to know why they come up with silly, made-up names for some guns yet retain the real names of others. "Obokan"? What? It's AN-94. "Akaban" was the competition name.

Can't get in the game atm (brother is playing it). Could be the wilds, dunno. It's the fun place with the rescue the scientist part.

Anyone else having performance problems? I'm running it on my Turion 2ghz, 1gb ram, 256mb mob. radeon x1600 laptop, and its jerking like crazy with major hard drive trashing, even on min. details (1280x800 res. - native to the laptops LCD). When I checked with process explorer, it had taken up a staggering 1.5GB of memory - do I need to upgrade to 2gb to have a chance of playing this?

As it is, the trashing and jerkiness is making the game unplayable (the first pack of dogs tore me apart since I couldn't target them do to all the jerkiness, and it seems that the server part is running just fine in the background so the dogs aren't having those problems).

I have a 2gb/3200 AMD64/6600GT, and on 'medium' with static lighting and middling ansio/AA etc my system runs fine. Are you using a major performance setting (highlevel lighting, heaps of grass, etc)?

While JoWood are pretty bad they´re not eastern European. They´re in Austria.
