Any religion that puts religious dogma ahead of the survival of a child. They will always be subservient to those beliefs and therefore will be sacrificed before those beliefs.

I can live with adult JW's refusing blood transfusion, even if I strongly disagree with it, but it should be criminal for them to choose preventable death for their children.

But...but they're saving their souls.

The nutters who want to opt out of proven vaccinations for their kids get nothing but contempt from me. There are occasions, though, which I can accept, where there exist legitimate doubts about the efficacy and safety of the vaccine. This is not the case for the vaccine in question, unless you're the kind of person who has serious doubts about truth of the Moon landing.

Nitpick, that does not sound like murder. Criminally negligent homicide, or manslaughter, is more appropriate. You should have said "She killed her own son..."

I've been quite lucky to be healthy my whole life, since I grew up without vaccinations or medications for religious reasons. I even remember being anointed with oil by a minister for chickenpox. Now I have not so much doubt in medicine, and no faith in faith. Are there any vaccination programs that are recommended for adults who have not been vaccinated, or is that only recommended on occasions of travel to areas of endemic infectious diseases?

You need to talk to a doctor about it - you certainly can be and probably should be vaccinated against the childhood disease you didn't catch since they are usually much more serious in adults. Doctors will assume you had those vaccinations as a child - it's up to you to speak up.

Get the measles jab pronto. The only vaccinations you can skip out on are DPT and other infant diseases, however, since measles is lethal in adults and can cause infertility, you know what to do. Mumps too.

Nope, not entirely - he should get vaccinated against the tetanus component. Tetanus still kills people every year, even in industrialized nations with excellent healthcare and it's a damn shame because it's so preventable with the vaccine.
