You're really getting better at this, to the point where both our art styles really compliment each other with the rough and sketchy-ish look to 'em.

I love how his space helmet looks bloodstained and mean.

That first vs comic was pissing me off. Plus reckoner was the wrong colour, so was fidels bandana (just got up to the images in your fic and went "oh shit").



Also thumb-nailing both images to avoid incurring the wrath of the mods.

Even MOAR excellents! What do you use to do those scale-patterns on the crocodiles and dinosaurs?

A couple of minor nitpicks though: There's a brown-thinggy in the crocodile's mouth. And the back of Fidel's neck got overlapped with the croco-scale patterns.

I like the shading you did, especially in that last bit of Fidel's face where his other eye is obscured by shadow. I wasn't satisfied with how I pulled it off.

Everybody needs handlebar moustaches.

I'm using illustrator to colour them, it has some decent animal-skin patterns. It also means I have vector-graphics versions of these if you want them (not really supported by web browsers yet).

The smudgy doesn't really matter , now I've had a bit of practice I can fine tune the import/trace a bit better (see: the cosmonaut). I didn't re-trace the first one to recolour it since then I'd have to go fine tune all of the paths/correct illustrators dodgy vector shapes.

That depends. Blurring makes an image look haunting, so it might look awesome in a "Fidel vs. the Bloodsucker" image, where the blurring lets us know how Fidel's head has been telepathically fucked. I don't like blurring in pictures of machines, though-- that's one thing I hated about the 'Metal Gear Solid' comics.

Shroom uses just the right amount of blur/smudge imo anyway, the knife movement-blur looks awesome. And around reckoner's rifle, I really didn't want to blank that out and so left the backgrounds alone.

For the next picture, let's see if we can put Fidel in a high tech suit that does NOT make him look like a male ballerina. It should help if the suit has armor plates in the shape of chest and abdominal muscles, like Snake's sneaking suit in the first 'Metal Gear Solid'.

Don't forget elbow pads, e.g., when Fidel needs to crawl. (That's something EVERY soldier is taught in US Army basic training-- trust me, it HURTS when you do it without elbow pads.)
