This is a bit more like it.
A couple of games not aimed at kids for once.

So a Metroid game from Team Ninja.

Hopefully it won't have Ninja Gaiden's "fuck you" difficulty level.

Has any media of the Metroid trailer gone up yet? Besides the general idea that a change from Retro Studios was probably for the best, I don't even know what to think of Team Ninja's take on the series.

It was said that Retro Studios moved on to another project for Nintendo, and besides the cameo of Adam Malkovich and possibility he will be a major character, it surprised me just how much the footage screamed Super Metroid during certain parts. I do wish to hear what project Retro Studios is working on though if they are set up somewhere at E3.

As for what Spanky said, it was said when, Tokyo Game Show that the next major Zelda game was underway as well. Maybe the next one for Footage. There have been a couple of the major Zelda games being shown off there first.

She was by far the cutest character. That's why I kept her on the team all the way through. :)
The lockpicking thing was absurdly trival.
Plus there was so much vendor trash gel fodder in the game you could just bypass every lock and still have tones of cash.

Unfortunately I doubt ME2 will be significantly improved. Bioware have always sucked at game mechanics and they just get cut too much slack from fans and reviewers (due to nice art and carefully faked 'epicness') for there to be any real pressure to improve.

Several of the Nintendo trailers are now up. I guess the big question for Other M is if the adventuring element is being put on the backburner in this trailer or not. If so, the huge areas that Samus is seen fighting in might be the standard, getting farther away from the modular hallway-room-hallway-small room sequence that the 3 Primes used. At the very least, there's a little more focus on superficial character design which is nice after the dorky Federation in Prime 3.

Sony's Motion controller doesn't seem to have much on Natal, it's more responsive at the moment. But even Natal is still just a prototype.

As Bounty said in the Chat : -

So... Nintendo has momentum and the promise of a Wiimote that'll finally do what it was hyped up to do, Microsoft has expanded social networking and a promising new party trick, Sony has a glowing ball on a stick

Hmm, no talk of Metal gear: Rising in Sony's conference, only the PSP title, guess it's a 360 exclusive then.

Frankly, the most important announcement of E3. Increase YOUR killing power. Assist your partner to take down a major crime boss! WHAT was THAT?

Haha, oh wow, can you imagine that? Also every enemy will be a balloon filled with blood.

Well, it probably won't. While Team Ninja made Ninja Gaiden the dude who was the main creative force behind it has left the company.

Lightning Bolt Action! It's not like it's much of a coup for Microsoft, in any case, unless it leads to the main games getting on to 360.

Also, I may actually get Crackdown 2, if it is indeed improved from the original.

So long as it's cel-shaded supercops using amazing powers while the narrator busts out 'skills for kills' and gives you history lessons but DOESN'T have unbalanced guns and poor overall structure, it'll be awesome.

From the trailer of the new Metroid game it really looks like Super Metroid 3D, but I guess it is a bit early to tell. Not entirely sure how I feel about Team Ninja handling Samus, hopefully they don't just spam the Zero Suit Samus fanservice scenes.

I'd just have expected Sony to fight tooth and nail to keep Metal Gear, Raiden spin off or not, on the PS3. If it'd just have been a 360 port like with FFXIII it would've been one thing, but a 360 exclusive Metal Gear game, it surprised me. As did the lack of a PS3 price drop announcement.

Tali has AI Hacking. Absurdly effective at breaking up groups of enemies, and the Hacking subset also reduces cooldown time on Tech abilties.

Other than that, give Tali max ranks on shotguns and Electronics for the shield boost. The AI is much better with shotguns than the player, for some reason. Use AI hacking to break up groups, knock out everyone's shields/weapons, slap the rest with biotics. Victory.

ME doesn't get really hard unless you play on Insane difficulty. The fights are actually a pretty serious challenge there, at least before level 45 (or you start putting a lot of points into Lift or Singularity). That's if you don't factor in the geth snipers/stalkers, both of which can one-shot Shepard with no warning on Hardcore/Insane.

But... I have AI Hacking (which is shit until you skill it right up and has heaps of units it never seems to affect especially on harder levels). The bio powers are far more useful generally, as you can lift things you can't hack and the reverse isn't often true (the big tanks are worthless in combat if you've got a pistol). Being a shotgun based character just means she sucks; shotguns aren't rapid fire OR long range, while a pistol is both. The only use for a shotgun is as a HE nade launcher to ragdoll people. :)

This is pretty much why the bio/tech class is the best, except for the use of sniper rifles. You get the good tech skills and the cheese bio skills. Once you restart and take another useful skill it's all over, because weapons are useless since it's not worth losing a skill slot when pistols are so damn good.

There's way too much redundancy in the powers anyway.

"Behold, I am a powerful jed--- biotic, and I have amazing powers!"
"Like what?"
"For--- Biotic push! Biotic pull and Biotic Lift! Oh. And I can sorta do a negligable DoT spell that has less effect than one pistol bullet."

All the biotic powers really meant was that you got a crappy push to set people up to get shot, a less crappy lift to set people up to get shot, and a super room clearing lift to set people up to get shot. By ultrapistols and even more ultrarifles.

Don't forget, sploiting the ragdolls to knock people into level geometry or off cliffs. Poor Asari commandos.

I feel Samus' jiggling breasts would advance the plot considerably. :(

Man, that new Ridley model looks weird. Maybe I'm just too used to Retro's Ridley. But the Metroid fanboy in me squee'd, regardless.

Wait, are they making Reach so the SPARTANS still don't have decent HUD or powers? That's asinine. Oh well; the Halo franchise always was stupid. :) OFP + supersoldier = fun, but don't tell MS.
It looks like they figured that out on their own. :)

The game will be free-roam and will have 4 player co-op? Hmmm.

It has Samus doing utterly ridiculous shit like tossing an alien, getting them in a head lock and shooting them at point blank range. It's pretty silly, but it looks dynamic. Speaking of silly, Bayonetta borders on criminally insane, but goddammit I want to play it like there is no tomorrow. The chick has handguns strapped to her ankles. I don't even know how that is supposed to work.

Pfft. One trailer shows her dual weilding bazookas. Firing from the hip. At two different targets.

Plus, y'know, you can suplex dragons and shit.
