Pubic office and humor standards aside, my point is that if you realize whatever being said, no matter how offensive you or someone else may find it, is a joke, there is no reason to get quite so butthurt about it.

What I hope is that people realize that no one here is saying that 'offensive' jokes are acceptable all the time. I'm not going to go to the Vietnam Memorial wall and start cracking jokes about the military. I mean, Coffee probably would, but the majority of us know and understand that there is a time and place.

I know it's not at me, just saying that public figures...especially politics do have to take better care of their words. People devotes thousands to millions to smear one over any mistep of words, especially in regards of what they want to make their populace to hear.

As for letting jokes slide, that is dependant on a great many factors, and people will always get butthurt over something. I am hoping more or less that people realize Comedy, as they say, is all in the timing.
