Kratos is hands-down more interesting than Mason, because he actually does things. But CoD is the bigger franchise, so it wins.

I actualyl sat throught he entire VGA show...god it was awful. the only presenter worth a flip was NPH. Denise Richardson was...oh, god...just...what? And there was a really bizarre backstage "interview" where the guy who plays the thing demonstrated his "Strength" by lifting the interviewer straight up into the air....and she was wearing a miniskirt so...yeah...then they laughed. GOTY Red Dead...I can get behind that. I think ME2 was a better game with a better story but Red Dead was really really good.

The VGA's have been and always will be a ridiculous nerd appeasement farce. It's hilarious to watch them try soooo hard to be a "cool" award show.

They're a pathetic attempt at Nerd appeasement. Every discussion I've seen of it was "OH MY GOD THAT SHIT WAS SO TERRIBLE." You should have seen the thread on NeoGAF. It was like getting a live MST3k riff on the event, but I had to hit F5 every now and again.

The enemies were boring to fight and the only way they posed a serious threat is if they ganged up on you. Combat was ridiculously simple and there were far far too many fetch quests. I played up until the assault on some fort with a minigun and returned it. Oh, and far too much of your time is just spent walking everywhere.

Almost none of the games I'd have picked would have even gotten nominated, so I don't really see the point.

Actually, i'm interested in what games you would pick, zod. I'm assuming its sort of based on whatever vague genres they've decided to use but whatevs i don't care how they did it

FPS: Bad Company 2 edit tie with metro
Strategy: Men of War -no thats from last year, World in Confl-no thats two years ago. um, dunno.
RPG: Alpha Protocol, if anything counts
Action-y shit: Asscred II, because i game on PC and can't have assbros yet or maybe that batman game i dunno

I'm just curious (not attacking anyone) because in a lot of thread about the mainstream AAA titles some of you end up bashing the crap out of them. Given how some of these threads tend to go, I'm shocked half of you even tried Halo: Reach or Black Ops. So I mean, what are these quality titles some of you are talking about.

Stark liked Metro 2033 and Alpha Protocol and that's all that comes to mind.

I would vote for those games. I don't know what I'd pick in 'action' that came out last year.

I should have given that game more credit when I played it. I knew it was 3rd person, but when I found out that there were no court battles I was like what the hell man. I guess it was in the title, but I never read anything in the previews that said 'no court battles', I didn't think I'd solve everything during the investigation. Anyway, I did like that all the cases were actually related to each other, that way you could see all sides of it, which was something that only Trials and Tribulations attempted. I should play it again.
