Likewise; it also made more sense than artificial shooters.

And I agree, it's waywaywayway too early for a reboot. They should wait 10-15 years, not 4. I don't think this'll make as much money as the Raimi films...
Supposedly they did it this soon so they wouldn't lose the rights because they had to make a movie by a certain time.

Yeah, they're stuck in the same position as the X-Men movies. If no films are made within a certain period, the rights revert to Marvel.
Ceci n'est pas une signature.

Just another example of greed triumphing over sense, I guess...
Yeah, I've always taken the subtext of the Birther movement to be, "The rules don't count here! This is different! HE'S BLACK! BLACK, I SAY! ARE YOU ALL BLIND!?

Destiny and fate are for those too weak to forge their own futures. Where we are 'supposed' to be is irrelevent.

I wouldn't want to give up rights to a billion dollar franchise either. This isn't the way I would've gone about it, but I can't blame them for doing so.

Me neither. And so far, we know next to nothing about this movie besides the fact that in those pictures, the suit design's pretty blergh. Maybe it actually turns out good.
'Next time I let Superman take charge, just hit me. Real hard.'
'You're a princess from a society of immortal warriors. I'm a rich kid with issues. Lots of issues.'
'No. No dating for the Batman. It might cut into your brooding time.'
'Tactically we have multiple objectives. So we need to split into teams.'-'Dibs on the Amazon!'
'Hey, we both have a Martian's phone number on our speed dial. I think I deserve the benefit of the doubt.'
'You know, for a guy with like 50 different kinds of vision, you sure are blind.'

Still even if Sony wanted to continue making more films. They don't need to actually reboot the series to that. Alright all new actors and production team is a de facto reboot but take The Incredible Hulk for an example. The background to that was vague enough you could take it to be a sequel to the 2003 Hulk movie or a reboot if you liked.

Sony could do the same thing, here, no origin story, (which seems to be most peoples objection to a reboot anyhow) maybe some lip service to continuity to Raimi events and just do some stand alone beat the crap out of some bad guys.
