903 - Reactors are obviously in the basement. Its part of the evil-genius building code.

901. Up. The last guys who tried it probably thought the reactors were in the basement too.

901, the reactors need a BOTTOMLESS PIT and so must be quite high!

901. Going down is clearly a devious Germanoid ploy.

901. As these Germanoids obviously do not understand proper tactics and are overall idiots, they probabl put the reactors where they would be at the most risk.

Go up. Even if we don't find reactors we'll have a high perch from which to shoot at people.

Rubbish
Chaos fiends like the Germanoids abhor the open and light. It is hardwired into their nature to skulk and hide their precioussss things in the dark depths.

And even if the damn things are upstairs, and we manage to blow em, as soon as the power goes down, the Washington will blast the castle.
Anything not a few hundred meters under the bedrock will be toast.

Better to be misguided and alive, than heroic jam, methinks

Ahem...

Battle Barge Washington

Image
“Captain Mason, A report from Squad Croatoan. Forge-Brother Erik reports that Sergeant Dare is with the Emperor. Reactors 3 and 1 have been rendered inoperable, with Reactor 2 severely damaged. The Forge-Brother believes that a bombardment from the main battery may be enough to permanently bring down the void-shields of the Castle Hohenzollern. The Sensorium reads are similar to Forge-Brother Eriks report.” Master of the Fleet Braddock says.

Captain Mason placed his helm on his head. “Brother-Admiral Braddock, I depart for the drop pods. Inform Lord General Blackstool that that we intend to end this siege by the end of the day. On my signal, unleash Hell.”

You head up the stairs…

After some discussion SSG Nelson informs you that they will head all the way to the top of the stairwell, not stopping, as no one can read the Germanoid runes. The castle shakes and shakes as one Shepistani fission rocket after another impacts the structure. There is some shouting from the bottom of the stairway after you have made your way up a few levels.

ALLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRMMMMM!!!” Two Germanoids begin shooting autoguns up at you and the kill-team. You begin to hoof it up the grated stairs. Slugs ricochet around. CPL Kendall chucks two frag grenades down and blow the Germanoids into chunky salsa. You keep moving. After several more levels(ignoring doors leading to who knows what) what sounds like a siren goes off and flashing lights appear. As the red light flickers on the stairwell walls they give a sickly look, as if they are alive. Jenkins and Leroy kick down the door at the top, the rest of the kill team follows.

The Shepistani Stormtroopers make short work of the Germanoid sentries, who are shouting “Krieger!”. There is another door 100meters away. It appears to lead further up.

You are on the battlement that is along the keep of Castle Hohenzollern. The Void shield is vaguely translucent with sparkly splotches appearing whenever IG artillery impacts it. You can see that the shield size has shrunk dramatically, and the outer curtain wall is completely exposed to the IG. Shepistanis and Feellippeeni Guardsmen are fighting on the battlements of the wall, or so you assume. The Void Shield restricts detail. As the thought leaves your mind a different siren starts. The Void shield becomes a bright, incandescent white light. It also begins to contract in shape. The light is persistent and is originating from the top of the shield. You realize that the Washington is once more bombarding the castle.

Step back where you came from, turn to page 903
Dash to the next door that is 100m away, turn to page 618
Stay outside and enjoy the show turn to page 769
