Forgive my ignorance, but what are the 'main street' effects of this issue, for best and worst case scenarios? I have read about things such as America's social security taking a big hit, which obviously hurts people who depend on it. But what is the 'terrain' of effects across the population in general, ranging from poor to middle-income to rich, for people in various industries, etc?
In fact, this can be extended to 'what will be the effect on the economies/industries/people in the rest of the world'?
Obviously detailed answers would require a crystal ball, but I would appreciate any broad outlines.
