I didn't even know it was him, and I don't care that it was. The GRU guys aren't paratroopers anyway.
The real 'plot hole' is that 5 guys can destroy an entire company of Russian soldiers in the open because their air support was late (and a single plane).
I know it was CO incompetence but it was still the Russians who did the killing is what I'm saying. And Blackburn has no idea the guy is GRU, he's just another Russian.

Right, and Blackburn already knew about the nukes, that's why they fucking went there. He knows everything the Russian said was true. A guy you hate vs global war?
It's actually remarkable that they didn't chicken out, but you show how people are so trained to expected cop-outs that when there isn't one they're confounded. I actually waited to see what happens, and Cole kills you. Big choice.

Yeah I waited too. It didn't make any damned sense, If anything he should have killed Dima.

Turns out he's a cockgobkin who wants the Russian alive for a promotion?
Like I said, it's good that Blackburn is put in a situation where he shoots an American, and this is only made more effective by people's shocked disbelief.
Of course, they'd never let a nuke go off in NYC becuase the bwaaaaaah brigade would blot out the sun, so ou have to take small victories.

I wanted to kill the CO on general principle anyway, but then I'm not a good person :V.
But I'd have had no problem with nuking NY. If anything I found nuking Paris more offensive. But then it's a game obviously catering to an American audience.

No ones' going to commit on the fact as some have put it that there's only one black character in the entire game and you shoot him in the face on the urgings of the crazy Russian? Did not believe that myself but according to one poster on other forum there is exactly one black character in the entire game which is your glory hog CO who you shoot in the face. I thought to myself that can't be true but messing around with the single player campaign again I looked around to it's an Aryan convention for the most part.
Also this game would have been 4x better if we ignore the pansy Americans and spent the entire campaign in Dima's shoes.

I did notice the lack of blacks in the game. There are some latino sounding names, but none of them looked anything but white to me.

The American assault guys in multi are black, at least. I got the feeling that the CO guy was supposed to basically be Sergeant Foley from Modern Warfare 2 mixed with Captain America from Generation Kill (you can really see the influence Generation Kill had on a lot of the dialog in general, and DICE have poked at concepts from CoD before, so I wouldn't be surprised if that was exactly what they were aiming for.) Awesome black leader guy is a well established trope at this point, and I think they were making a point to subvert it.

I love the way music is used in MP. Instead of the horn that you used to get, the music starts coming in and gets progressively louder until the final moments of the match are played out with the music swelling in the background.

The rules around timers are much better now; on attack running out of tickets doesn't end the match if you've got a point ticking. That's some tension.

I'm also happy they removed the ability to damage points by dropping the structure on them or just sniping them with a rocket launcher from across the map. In both BC games it was very easy to totally circumvent some Rush points entirely these ways.
Shit remember when Rush was about blowing up Gold crates?

Me and another guy tried it. If he was hosting I got his invite, accepted and it said it was waiting for him to start, but no way of starting. If I hosted, he never got the invite.
Maybe it might be worth trying someone else and see if it works.
It was horrendous trying to get it to work with a certain player, only to be smooth sailing when I went with "public matchmaking" and chose to play the remaining missions with that same player.
Apparently repeated playthroughs of Hit and Run on Easy are the fastest way to grind co-op points, unless you can find a certain spot in the final co-op mission where you can get an infinite respawn going (basically don't go past the police cars).

Sadly, they also removed about 80% of the buidling destruction entirely. Whole levels have Gears-level destruction (chipping walls, maybe destroying sandbags or other cover) and that's all. Some (like Nosehair canal) have destroyable buildings, and really obviously NOT destroyable buildings. It's pretty lame, really; concrete building destroyed in a single pass of a tunguska, shipping containers immune to all damage.

It would be great if someone could use the same ballistics physics that SWAT 3 did 11 years ago and let you put .50cal rounds through containers and things like that.
I really hope that the destruction gets stepped up though as I loved how at the end of a BC2 match you'd look at the map and go "yeah, there was a battle here."

The big refinery in firestorm is awful; almost none of the actual refinery itself is destroyable. Y'know, stuff like gantries, pipes, shit like that, areas that are a bastard and full of guys.
The concrete buildings at ground level? No worries, blow them up.
Knocking over the fuckign sniper cranes of sniper assholes? IMPOSSIBLE.

Oh yeah the destruction has been toned down a lot and that's not cool. It's weird what structures they're cool with destroying this time vs. what isn't destructible. Gantries, cranes, those big fucking spotlights that I keep crashing into with the god damn A-10.
Other than that the mobile AA not being mobile sorta makes me mad too.

I had great fun using the mobile spawn beacon to parachute onto the roofs of buildings in the enemy backfield that they could get to. That's how I spammed SKS so hard I got as many kills is one round with it as I had from multiple sessions as Support.
All possible because they couldn't even.destroy my cover on the rooftop because the buildings are invulnerable.

If you're playing the console version the mobile AA only appears on Noshahr Canals for the defenders.

And is a hilariously broken game-winning 50-killstreak bullethose of lol. Put a thermal sight on and play 'does the sniper know he can be seen'!

This is the worst fucking thing I've ever spent money on.
Literally, from the start. The entire game took over an hour to install all the fifty random little bits. But Origin, wow. It's like if someone took Steam, which is already a somewhat controversial system, and stripped out EVERY SINGLE GOOD THING about it.
Then they make a game that's menus are USING YOUR BROWSER and WONT EVEN START. I literally cannot play the game.
Thanks EA, for making gaming take horrible steps BACKWARDS in user-friendliness and convenience.

The site has a lot of good info in there if it works for you; it instantly puts statsverse out of business. But on 360, installing the game ISO still requires a different 'HD content pack' as well, which somehow takes longer to install than the iso.

Good point. I recently downloaded JCOVE Lite (it's a publicly released VBS2 distro) and it actually works. Too bad it isn't a real game though, just a couple of missions.
However, the one mission that I played (it was a defence of an Iraqi outpost from insurgents) was actually better than any game in Arma/Arma2.

NEW WORST THING EVER.
Fail, for any reason to complete a round and your stats, points and unlocks don't save.
So, I just had a game where I wrecked shop in a T-90 and levelled that baby. Then got disconnected (it was a laggy server).
Sorry. No unlocks for you. No stats.
THIS IS A FEATURE. NOT A BUG.

Are you sure your stats have been discounted? Sometimes in BC2, it would take ages for stats to update.
