It seems we´re pretty much of the same opinion. You guys answered a post that was directly written to Philosopher of Sorts so I assumed you were taking the same standpoint as him.

Like I said earlier, in general I prefer the rehabilitation of criminals, its just that in Breivik's specific case I don't think it can be done. I just don't see how someone can be rehabilitated from something like that. I mean, its not like he can't function in society, by all appearances he led a pretty normal life, while he was meticulously planning mass murder for, what was it, ten years? Yes, if he is released I would prefer that he be reformed, but I see that as suboptimal compared with not releasing him at all, as I really don't see a life sentance as an excessive punishment here.
This is actually a case where I might argue for the death penalty, just hang him quick and clean and be done with it.
