Are you suggesting, basically, that the theoretical "shipkiller" 200 GT proton torpedos are, in effect, the heavy rockets from the X-Wing games while the "standard" proton torpedo is the actual "proton torpedo" or APT from those games? Because honestly I can't see an X-Wing carrying 6 proton torpedos the size of even a small (5' long, 1.5' to 2' wide") human. There's just not enough magazine space. Much less in the B-Wing for TWELVE of them! Or the E-Wing's mind-boggling 18.

*Yes, I do realize those games have jack shit to do with continuity, but it helps me to relate things to them, so don't flame me.*

As a side note, one of the things that has always struck me as vaguely ridiculous about the B-Wing's design was the lack of space for any sort of warhead magazines, despite carrying a dozen proton torpedos.

Sure. I am just kind of retroactively covering my ass in case the actual Quote (which I haven't as of yet seen :? ) should be ambigous as to it being a single B-wing;
and 3 orders of magnitude is rather a lot, even if the payload package is increased by a factor of 3-4 in each dimension, compared to the X-wing torps in the drawings from the original RPG et al, which the B-wing spaceframe does seem to leave room for.
(you can put it down to 4-days-post-post jitters if you want :lol: :P :lol: )
I would still like to know the original text of that quote, it is annoying to comment on something I am not sure of.

Well I mean, because of increasing torpedo neccessity, and observations of fighters, particularly X-Wings are having expanded fuselages, leads me to believe ordinance magazines/hardpoints are modular and can be mounted with a variety of weapons.

My guess is based on the engines not needing air intakes, so those structures could be the torp magazines, and could hold at least as many humansized weapons as the cockpit. 8)

The heavy rockets, as they fit in the magazines of the X-wing, must consequently be not much longer then a torp, so can be ruled out as a candidate. We need to postulate an entirely new weapon size, or a 1.1E3 increase in firepower density, which is why I am waffeling a bit here. :wink:
