Norwegian/Finnish

I live in Norway and I speak Norwegian, but I'm more Finnish, my mom's Finnish and my dad has some Finnish in him.

Well, mine were nobles who may have ruled over an entire village from before 1300 AD to around the time of the Reformation.

Most of them fled France because of their faith, and at least two were executed. One had heavy stones laid upon him until he expired. The other had his head crushed by a hammer.

I'm Scot/Irish, with a touch of Anglized Dutch. (dont' ask me what that means)

Which means I've got red-blond hair (My cousins were the carrot-tops this generation), extremely pale skin that burns in winter if I'm out too long. I've the Irish temper, and 'babblemouth Dutch' as my dad put it.

*grin* Ah, yes, the infamous Irish temper. I've got that plus the Scottish temper. I was a hellion as a kid. 7 fights in school in 8 years. Two insulted my mother, three called me fat, one struck me first, and the last one was just an arrogant twit who needed some sense knocked into him. There's just certain things I won't put up with.

Hispanic. Which usually refers to a mestizo, the blending of Iberic and Native American genetics.

And the reason whites are called Caucasian is because the people living in the Caucasus area seemed to some historians to most nearly exemplify the physical characteristics of the supposed White race--much like the way they named all Asians 'Mongoloid.'

Amusing Family History:
The ancestor of mine who moved to New Spain first, IIRC, was a former mercenary who was forced to retire because he got most of his right hand shot off by a Dutchman and his foot was amputated "just to be safe."

Another of my ancestors was supposedly involved in the storming of the Alamo, and probably was one of the guys who had to go around poking Texan corpses to make sure they were dead. Fun.

Maternal Grandpappy fought in then fled the Spanish Civil War and settled in Cuba. So at least on my mom's side we go back to Spain fairly recently. On my dad's side we strongly suspect SOMEONE was French since the family name is Fontaine.

I'm Finnish, with a twist of German, Russian, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Ukranian, Serb, Greek (Byzant), Polish, French, Spanish and possibly also Arab mixed in for the fun. Bloody inbred European royal families - even if you have a distant link to one of them, you're related to them all.

My family has come a long way from the times when we were pillaging the coasts of Britain and France, smacking down the Arab pagans at the gates of Byzant or eliminating rivals to the throne. Now I'm sitting here at my home in front my computer, when some thousand years ago my ancestors ruled some of the greatest powers in the world. Yay.
