all the good guys and girls are too goddamn shy to go find eachother most of the time. Typical of you silly kids; wouldn't know how to count your own two legs if you didn't have people like me pointing them out to you.

Actually, it goes like this:
Woman: "there are no good guys out there"
(for 'good', read 'attractive, intelligent, sensitive, rich, funny and interesting')
Man: "there are no good girls out there"
(for 'good', read 'willing to shag me')
um...not all guys are just looking to get "shagged". i'm just looking for a relationship and i cant even find that.

Well if all else fails you can become like Ein.

Actually, I think more of what innerbrat is saying is what the opposite sex believes the other is thinking.
meaning:
Males: "man, every woman only wants a soft, cuddly, sensitive man."
Females: "*sigh* All a man thinks about is sex."

That's what we're told every day. Women aren't allowed to admit they look at a guy's appearance or want to get fucked. It's not "ladylike".
Females: "*sigh* All a man thinks about is sex."
But ... that's true.

You post should read "You may have a point,
because everytime..."
The way you have it, it could sort of be mistaken for you trying to refute part of my argument.
The horrible truth gets me down, but then i see the Homestar Runner, and its all better again ^_^

It was a toss up between 3 and 10. I wanted to at least make us look somewhat normal.

It's Homsar. There's a difference.
You should have seen the horror on Spanky The Dolphin's face when I was hanging out at his dorm and asked him "did the possiblity ever occur to you that the perfect girl for you is out there, but you haven't run into here becasue she's doing the exact same thing you are by sitting in the dorms all day long?"

It's not Homestar. Anyone who's seen all of the site would know it isn't.

Well, the chick never, ever seemed remotely interested in even talking to me, but her friend was interested in me(which I fuck up like always). But that was several months ago and the only time she has talked to me since then was to try and get me on her anti-war poster making thing.

Hey now....... I also want a million dollars and a tasty donut...
As for finding the right girl/boy, it just takes a lot of patients and a lot of wading through shit (though I'm not really sure how valid my advice is, having had only one girlfriend and she asked my sleepy, noncaring ass out).

I'm yet to understand why do girls like me, say that they love me, date me for months or years and then leave for no good reason. Nice girls, too. I'm somewhat intelligent, in shape and I don't think I'm that ugly. It gets annoying and I'd like to know why.
I mean, I know it was I who left my first girlfriend, but I believe I've paid more than the fair price.

Hav you tried to take it further, or just cruised with the relationaship at one level only. Ie. have you ever proposed to them, or was it the same old, same old after a few years. Some girls want to settle down and if you don't pop the question or even act like you might, they want to move on to someone that does.
Rather unfairly, the obverse is also true, some girls want to be single for as long as possible and when it looks like you want to take things further they want to leave. It' up to you to decide which is the more likely situation.

Shit man, that's gotta suck.
Are you still friends with her?
And was the break-up over something that could be mended?

Hey, you'll get over it. (damn that sounds trite, but I do mean it). A year is a short time for that kind of thing to heal over, your best bet is to get with your friends, get out there and try to get back into living life fully. It'll help you get over the heartache and it'll get you better chance of finding and keeping a good woman (after all, someone that's happy, has a better chance than someone in pain/feeling lonely).
I realise this is pretty general advice, but it's what I've seen work the best with others that have been jilted by Fiancee's. And it's helped me over the years when I've had my heart broken.

I'm still friends with her, sort of. I haven't talked with her for months.
The break-up was quite simple. I began to feel she was behaving weird, not making an effort to see me. A few days later, I pressed the issue and she told me she was beggining to have doubts. A few days after it, she said that if she had doubts, that meant she didn't love me anymore, and we broke up. The whole thing took two weeks.
She did say that I was the dream boyfriend of any girl and that she was crazy for leaving me, as if that would help me feel any better
