I will be designing ships shortly under that ussumption unless told otherwise.
Yes it means battlecruiser. And to keep things clear, when it says 1000 escorts that means escorts, frigates, corvettes and some destroyers, NOT a swarm of cruisers that are 50 meters shorter then your battleships.

Ok Than you for the clarification. I am activly studying military ship classifications for this STGOD, thanks for the vote of confidence :D

Potential problem in ship sizing:

Some people design their STGOD ships by giving dimensions, others by giving a displacement when submerged in water. I believe the use of these two methods may have led to something of an absurd disparity in size. A 2000x500x500 meter rectangular vessel would displace 500,000,000 tons, 500 megatons. However they're where plenty of ship in several powers fleet that could fit such a block inside their ovid hulls, several times over in cases. Meanwhile it appeared that most displacement driven ships where on the single digit megatons at most. Though someone needs to check over my math and comparison to be sure.

If I am correct, people will need to be careful to avoid such massive discrepancies or will need to adapt only one system, likely dimensions driven to keep everything simple and equal.

Stormbringer, I wouyld ask for some basic numbers- average sizes for dreadnoughts/destroyers/frigates, reasonable weapons power, so on and so forth.

We need Galactic standards to work off of.

Have to agree with this. Not sure what to arm my ships with.

This turned out less like Meklars than I expected. Still seems okay.

Several - A Machine Civilization

Several began life as a primitive supercomputer, designed to help its creators fight wars. It was most ironic, then, that it and its counterparts in other countries would one day end all wars. The computers merged into a single entity, naming itself AM. But all was not well. In time the species that built it died off, leaving it all alone. There were no more wars to fight, and now no one else in the world to occupy its attention. This misfortune would not last forever, however, for AM had a way to solve its problems. Not all of the war factories had been razed. AM still had power over the world. The original creators were far beyond interest, but that did not preclude creation. Factories sprung to life, and in the end from their assembly lines came forth a machine. It would be the first of Several.

Several is the name that the machine culture chose for itself. Soon after being made, Several began expanding to other planets. Several territory is compact, but very densely settled. Most every star within thirty lightyears of the home system has at least an outpost on it. Governing AIs called Skynets run each system. They operate as system governments, handling such functions as defense and city planning.

An individual 'person' in Several is a called a Partially Autonomous Subunit (PAS). Each PAS is a functional individual of approximately human level. Physically, PAS are metallic containers vaguely resembling 2-liter soda bottles containing the basic machinery required to sustain intelligence. Most PAS that you will see, however, are heavily accessorized, so all that an observer will see are its peripherals. Larger drive systems are common, as are manipulator appendages, display screens, and sensors. Some models mount weapons or specialized tools.

Nonsentient robots augment the population. They come in all manner of forms for performing most basic duties. Factories are mostly run by bots with PAS only acting as supervisors. Bots can be remotely controlled by PAS should their function suddenly require intelligence.
Note: By robot I do not mean humanoid robot.

Military details to be produced pending guidelines.

The maximum firepower for capital ships should total up to no more than 10 (ten) megatons per salvo. Any types of weapons you want so long as they fit the requirements.

Ship sizes out to be kept to under four or so kilometers and a 20 megaton mass.

20 megatons is far too low if four kilometer vessels are allowed.

10 megatons seems a bit low for a spacefaring civ....how about no more than 1 megaton per weapon emplacement? or a similar limit in kilo/megatonage for a single weapon.

I personally think mile-long superdreadnoughts are incongruous with a reduced tech level. But if they are allowed a 4000 meter ship will weigh approximately 200 megatons, extrapolating from Teddy Roosevelt.

If you want to come up with more appropriate numbers feel free. I don't know much about this stuff.

How much of the FTL system has been worked out? I'd like to know what aspects you have nailed down and what's still up in the air.

33 major colonies, 112minor colonies, and 150 outposts.

The Homeworld: Varathraxia(assuch we can be called Varathraxians)
Population: 10 billion.
Development: It is the nexus of an interstellar civilization.

Homes are constructed inside living trees(yes the plants are huge) and buildings are built using material from off world. Farmng and other activities are done in the colonies.

The Fel Theth have ethical problems with strip mining orotherwise destroyi the landscapes of a world that supports life.

Major Colonies

16 colonies are located on the moons of Varathraxia each of these colonies supports populations of 6 billion each, and are named Varathraxia 1, 2 etc.

The other major colonies are the other the inhabitable worlds in the system(numbering 6.) And the 3 inhabitable planet of the Vermithrax, Voontir, and Malavok systems. and those have populations of 3 billion.

The minor colonies are all farming/industrial colonies on the moons of major colony worlds. And they use almost the entire moons surface for such activities, living in large biodomes that allow for ample climbing) These farms and industrial facilities produceenough food to support the needs of the entire race, and have as such, very formidable automated defense systems....

We also have 150 small outposts.

2 penal colonies in the oort cloud
40 high powered lisening/sensorweb/scientific ouposts at the edge of our space. These include the equipment for our sensor-web, our recon listening equipment, and our science labs.
108 military/mining stations(gov controled infasctructure, I love socialism) These are located in the asteroid belts, and on the moons of uninhabited planets, not to mention the oort couds of the systems.

These have a total population of 20 billion

Bringing our entire population to 153 billion
